It appears to be a mashup, but most cars are that way now. The SRT-4 had quite a following and I think had a positive influence on the culture. Hopefully a reboot of the Dart will do the same.

Overall, I think it looks good, but not fantastic. Kind of like the new Elantra, it's looks really interesting and different now but may not age well (like a conservative Corolla).

I appreciate Dodge's ongoing effort to fill the sport sedan/muscle car heritage niche in there respective categories. It's a niche some are clearly interested in. If Chrysler could prove themselves reliable, I would give them a look, but history always shows that a Chrysler product will begin to suck within 5-7 years. Hopefully, that will change.

This is an R/T that is shown. Clearly the top model outside of a possible SRT model that will hopefully be available - that would be sick and certainly kill the Civic Si. So we're are seeing 17" wheels, dual exhausts, ect. Wonder how a base model will look which will need to be priced from about $16K.

I was going to say it looks like the elantra front end......

It looks like a LOT of cars piecemeal together really. Seeing this actually reminds me of the movie "She's Out of My League" :

Stainer: But he drives a shit box so you have to deduct a point.
Kirk: What is wrong with my neon?
Stainer: Oh I don't know except the people who make that car don't even like it.

:bellyroll:

Looks cool....but the Dodge crosshair grill looks a bit out of place. Similar to the cobalt when it came out it only looks like a mish-mash of styles because its late to the game

Most motors nowadays are hemis. That term comes from a hemispherical design of the heads.

Love the look but.....the Dart? Really? That name sucks.

Also, is this going into the Civic/Elantra class? Doesn't Chrysler also have the 200 in that class?

but Dodge parts fail, rip, power seat and window gear dies, fog lights get misaligned on
the slightest bump, those twin exhausts won't be in alignment in 30,000 miles, transmission
will die at 80,000 miles. oh yeah creaks and moans throughout the life.

has anything been done to resolve the above ???

Dodge looks nice on paper but execution is crappier than GM

Ya, you throw a dart at it and fix them as they come.

I like it. Would have to be pretty crisp and responsive to win me over though. (Which I doubt it will be).

I like it. I think it looks great. Chrysler really needed a competitive C-segment car. Looks like this should do it. Now they need a B-segment vehicle ...

I like the fact they say 'expect 40mpg'

100% reasonable, when driven reasonably

I have to say US manufacurers have shown some amazing models in Detroit, the Dart being one of them. Fusion, ATS and Encore also seem impressive.

Remains to be seen how they fare in real-life conditions but I don't think they'll be any worse then their predecessors.

I like it. Would have to be pretty crisp and responsive to win me over though. (Which I doubt it will be).

It's basic chassis structure is from the Alfa Giulietta, which is a great-handling car, so it's probably really nice in that department. Chrysler cars of late have been good handling cars, even the big ones (300, Charger, etc).

I like the look. Very clean, but not over the top and into strangeness like the Elantra. Taillights look great in the dark!

Looks like lots of model levels....turboooooh!
