Hey guys just posting to keep you guys updated. The process is coming along well, obviously as you guys have heard they have designed and released the axle-back exhaust. I just figured I would let you guys know that you can view a few pictures of the project by going to ZPI's website and clicking on their gallery section. My name is Nick Barsotti, so look for that in the customer car section. For those of you too lazy... http://www.zeropointindustries.net/gallery/nbarsotti
there is the link. They should be updating with more pics as the process comes along, and I will try to keep you guys updated with how its coming. And yes I know my car is a little dirty behind the front bumper, I had to drive 10 1/2 hours in the snow to get there so cut me some slack haha.

Looking good! Can't wait to see it on the dyno!
Do you know what kind of turbo they're putting in? Is there a compression map available to look at?

actually we are thinking GT35R.. I think the ball bearing will help overcome the little displacment of the 1.5L. :headbang:

You will put a 35R on a 1.5L and need to downshift 1-2 gears to get spool-up more than likely and only a 16G on the 2.4L 2AZFE? You've got to be kidding....

which 35R are you thinking about and isn't it a little pointless to buy a turbo capable of 30 psi if you only plan on running 5?

GT22 is what I have for mine, GT35R is too big, that turbo can support 680HP

After talking to turboyaris, we've decided on something slightly bigger. We'll overcome the lag with a direct port kit.

Yea nester I like this turbo http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=GRT-TBO-049&Category_Code=GRT I feel like having my car shred into tiny pieces... but just think a 1600HP yaris would be sick just hook the nitrous right to the turbine housing to spool it up. Think about it.... it'll be sick!!!

Guys this is a preliminary pic of the controversial ZPIracing GT40R turbo for the new Toyota Yaris. As you can see the kit comes with an external 38mm wastegate and will include a vented hood to allow room for the piping. The kit will include external cameras and 7 Screen to allow safe driving due to the immediate vision obstruction caused by the abnormally large turbos.
We feel that you should see spool on this application in 7500rpm range.
Stay tuned to ZPIracing.net for updates on this exciting new product!!! :eyebulge: :eyebulge: :eyebulge: :eyebulge:

I'm assuming the pistons and rods for the xB/xA will work.

I don't think I want to buy a turbo kit from a company that can't even tell a 44mm wastegate from a 38mm :iono:

Yeah, yeah, vroom, vroom, my car redlines at 6500 and the GT35R turbo I'm using spools at 5 grand!!! I'm a dyno queen, yeahhhh!!!!
Let's make some serious, unusable power for 1500 rpm. How about a USABLE turbo like a GT28RS?

I heard stock block Yaris's can handle 1000whp before giving way.....at 46psi with a GT42 turbo. Praise Japanese engineering in my Yarrari.

I am wonderin why no one is getting there hands on a 1.5 Turbo set up off a Vitz? I am sure someone can get a hold of a whole drivetrain to transplant...

I was refuring to the companies that are R&Ding the turbo set up... I am sure it would be more cost effective to take a setup that functions and adapt it to the USDM Yaris... I geuss it just depends upon how much they pay there R&D Engineers

Its much more cost effective to make something that fits as cheaply as possible and start selling it... if you know what I mean.

All we really need is the Bent Tubing... we can figure the rest out (Best turbo option and Best Intercooler option) by ourselves... Sell us the bent tubing and give us choices on the turbo and intercooler we want to see!
Don’t force us to pay you $3000 for a turbo that’s meant to be fit on a F-ing V-6
1.5l people! … It’s only 1.5 LETERS
What is taking so long on releasing a Turbo or Super charger for this thing?
5 different companies have told me “We’re working on it” since November… 4 months of “We’re working on it” with not one SOLID turbo kit!

Now thats the turbo I want in my car, just hidden of course.
No seriously, why the hell are people getting larger then needed turbo's?
Is it because they can produce more boost at a lower rpm AND keep it more stable then other small turbos? If this is the case then everyone ahs to stop thinking inside the box.
But if that is the case then WTF!

alright guys... just to clear the air since i guess no one caught zpi's sarcasm... they are probably going to use a 16g which is what they use in their xb kit. They are going to test out a few different turbos to see which one works well with the engine and setup. On their XB i believe the 16g reached full boost at just over 3000rpms and pulled strong to redline. Just figured I'd clear this up before I read more posts on how a monster turbo wont work on a 1.5 L the gt35 is best suited for worked evos and stis and some inline 6s
