My wife has been complaining about the back seat and back floor being wet. I checked the window gaskets, okay, checked the trunk lid, okay. Front floor dry. any ideas.

Check for the two drain plugs that should be installed under the pan of the car (kind of just under the passenger floor mat area). The Yaris is shipped from Japan with them out and the dealer is supposed to install them as part of the pre delivery inspection, but many people find them sitting in a bag in their glove box.

I've been wondering what those things were for...are they meant for keeping water out or letting water out?

In the end they are to keep it out. I am not sure why they ship the cars with them out.

Ah okie. I'll have to put them in then.
I noticed them when going through my glovebox but I never payed much attention to them.

My 08 Hatchback is leaking somewhere around the hatch window. It runs down inside and comes out the vent cover in the corner and leaks down under the spare..It started this in the fall.Nothing has changed to cause this it just started.

Could be one the tail lights are leaking due to seal . This was the case for a '99 Prizm ( Corolla ) we had . There were times when there was enough water to put a goldfish or 2 in . The Chevy service center fixed both under the corrosion warranty .

I may be mistaken, but I think those holes are where tie-downs are inserted on the ship.
