We will compile a list of bulbs that would fit for your Yaris. So far we know the dome light uses 31mm. and we have the PC version or standard 8 led festoon version. The parking lights in the headlight housing uses the 194 T-10 and now we are going to check out the turn signal fittings and map lights to see what type fits those. The #'s of part application may differ but fitting should be the same. I will have to see a pic of the 2357 application for the Yaris turn signal bulbs so if anyone could send a pic it would help me out faster. Thanks...

Robert, ill get a list going with pictures of each bulb when I get a chance.
FYI though, the side blinkers can not be changed. Toyota for some reason choose a sealed housing, so if and when the bulbs do blow out, you need the complete assy. Im sure its not expensive, but its kind of a weak design on their part.
I on the other hand have a nifty little way of opening them up, and changing out the bulbs.

Chris, you are a Guru.
Black Yaris, no worries about that site. We actually do not have competitors. We just have companies that rip off our potential customers or sell to people who don't appreciate quality.
Unfortunately, we cannot personally test every type of vehicle. There are even differences between the hatchback and sedan Yaris. We have to rely on tech manuals.
Toyota lists the Yaris Sedan map & dome lights as 3175 & the cargo light as de3022. The autolumination site shows both those models as festoons. However, YarisWorld member RedGlare45  sent in pictures of his maplights & cargo lights as a 194. Today a tech finally found a dealership willing to let us disect the sedan and also found the map & cargo light to be a 194 while the dome is a 31mm festoon. Are there 2 versions of the sedan or is it a misprint?
We should have a list for both models by Friday. This will include markers, signals, parking, license plate and more!
We are also working on better shipping and ordering options for everyone.

Not really. As posted many times over, the led sizes seem to differ from the aftermarket. Some bulb type markings remain the same, but some differ, such as the interior dome light thats a "31mm bulb", rather then calling it by its "book name."

What size did you use in the hatch?
Chris07LB
02-17-2007, 12:39 PM
Was a prototype festoon in the back hatch. Ill have to look for the packaging, to see what size it was exactly.
I know the newer version of this festoon I have is even brighter!

Good news,
We have the bulb list for both models. Of course, this is no guarantee and we recommend double checking for yourself since some of these do not match the Toyota parts guide.
Hatchback
31mm pcb-festoon for dome light
194 for map lights
36mm festoon or pcb-festoon for hatch
194 for parking lights, license plate & front markers
3157 for tail light, stop light & back-up light
We have seen the front turn signals as 194s and 1157. Check your car.
Sedan
31mm pcb-festoon for dome light
194 map lights
194 for trunk
194 for license plates and front side markers
3157 for tail light, parking light, stop light, rear side marker
We have seen the front turn signals as 194s and 3157. Check your car.
Honestly, the rear bulbs are only worthwhile if you have aftermarket clear housings.
The 1157 & 3157s just past testing and are not even on our site yet. We have them in amber and hyper-white. $29.98 a pair minus 20%!
Thanks to all of the YarisWorld members that have been patient, helpful and willing to help us figure this all out. As a manufacturer, we normally do not deal directly with the end-user. This has been a tough but rewarding experience.

my 31mm festoon did not fit in my sedan dome light.
the lights that come off across wont allow it to go in the hole.
i may have to cut/shave the plastic back to allow it to fit.
i have a normal looking bulb in my sedan trunk area.
so i need a normal bulb for the trunk.
Hileds
02-21-2007, 04:40 PM
The 31mm pcb is the perfect fit for both yaris models. The 8 led festoon is 1/3 the price yet is a bit wide for the stock hole. So, you save money but, you sacrifice time modding and performance. That festoon is great at 36mm for the hatch trunk. You need a 194 for the sedan trunk.
It would have been great if Toyota would just standardize their setup or, at least, publish the correct specs.

Currently other than white, we have the 194s in amber, red, blue and green. On the festoons we have 36mm in blue and 31mm in green. The packages do show different colors but, not all of them are now available. We are producing the primary used colors of white, amber and red. In order for us to ensure we have the very best of the best it does take time to perfect the product in areas of brightness, color stability and longevity. It is easy to just make the product but, we work on areas others do not look at to ensure our products will be superior over anything out there and we have to be confident on that. We observe and test other products when necessary. Plus, we know our products use the finest in raw materials. We are currently designing new products to meet our strict specifications. So, keep expecting new and better products from HiLEDs. To answer the question about other colors, be patient and we will get them in on the more popular applications such as the festoon and pcb-festoon. The turn signal bulbs in blue and green, I don't forsee that happening due to production costs and demand for them. We do have some in a hyper-white (bluish white). Check our website (http://www.hileds.com) regularly for updates due to new releases. We are also remodeling the site. Thanks for all of your interest and support!

Yup, 4 of those in all, two for the reverse lights, two for the turn signals. The reverse lights are nice and bright white, sure but they leave this ugly blue tint in the tail housing when off
If you have one pair of white and one pair of ambers it would work just fine as well, actually.

The wafer part of the pcb is too large to fit inside the hatch lens (laying flat, facing out). The 36mm festoon is too wide to face out. It has to be angled to fit in there.
The pcb worked great in my foot well though.

For all those who are thinking of swapping out the reverse bulbs for LED versions we're not recommending at this point in time as they will not visually help you see when you back up although they will be noticable for those who are behind you not that most stock reverse lights really do much anyway for you to see when you back up. We can make a reverse light work as a beam somewhat like a flashligh but the problem is it will be more of a focused narrow type instead of spreading out utilizing the stock reflector and the bulbs lens will be limited to the size of the opening of the hole. This project will be at a later date. Keep in mind we are coming out with new turn signals which will be very bright so wait for those to come out. Also as mentioned earlier, we will be coming out with new festoon to fit the Yaris better, currently you can use the PC version in the dome but for the hatch area we'll have the new version festoon to better fit that application. We've been working with different versions of festoons and soon we'll be coming out with one we feel is going to work very well in all festoon applications.

Hatchback

194 for map lights
36mm festoon or pcb-festoon for hatch
194 for parking lights, license plate & front markers
3157 for tail light, stop light & back-up light

31mm pcb-festoon for dome light
194 map lights
194 for trunk
194 for license plates and front side markers
3157 for tail light, parking light, stop light, rear side marker
We have seen the front turn signals as 194s and 3157. Check your car.

You want bright halogens for the reverse, not LEDs. The rear facing LEDs will not reflect back against the inside of you reflector backed housing behind the lens, like a super bright "hyperwhite" bulb will.
Hope that makes sence.

You need the bulbs like Chris showed previously, these are 1156 in the reverse for stock housing. Autolumination.com has some you can use until Hileds invesnts something. I said before I have the 3 LED kind of reverse lights in mine. The light is bright enough and it is nice white light but really it just looks neat, and they are not made by HILEDS, it will not make backing up any easier than stock bulbs. Not sure that stock is any brighter than the LED's I have though. The xenon bulbs are BRIGHT.

I have to agree with Chris and Brick. Currently LEDs are a waste of money as reverse lights and in any other rear application other than led designed tail lights. Exception being the license plate and bumper markers. We have the lights that are good for looks ( link (http://www.hileds.com/turn_signals.html)) but, would recommend saving your money for our new design. Hopefully, you respect that we don't just push what we have and are taking the time to truly develop a superior product. We only have our current version because people keep saying they don't care and like them anyway. We care and will give you the best.

Is anyone else running the 194 led wedges with plain old xenon bulbs? I am a little paranoid about the heat from the xenon so close to my precious led. I absolutly love these led's and I hate even having to turn on my headlights now I like running these alone, all the time.
Any suggestions from Hileds?

Ok, I have a US Liftback. I want to replace:
- bulbs in the light in the center of the roof (those are the dome lights right?)
- two lights up front on the roof near the rearview mirror that you press to turn on (those are the map lights right?)
- license plate lights
- lights inside the trunk
- these lights:

Which items do I need to ask HiLEDs for to replace all of those lights with white LEDs?
I'd really like to take advantage of their extended 20% off deal. Thanks guys. :)
Ok, quoting myself here to let everyone know that I've ordered the following from HiLEDs:
- three pairs of white 194s (map, license plate and running lights)
- one 31mm pcb-dome
- one new style trunk light
I hope I got the right parts and the correct number of each part for the lights I want to replace. The 20% off deal was pretty nice too.

Whoa, I didn't even think about that! Good call. I'm STILL waiting to here back from Robert at HiLEDS to place my order via email. I got the PIAA GT-X ,but haven't installed yet. I have too much other stuff comin in the mail so I'm just waitin to do a whole make over all at once. BUT, everyone dogs PIAA on here so I might break down and get a HID kit.

well, I ordered some osram silver star bulbs because I don't want a half ass hid kit like I have heard about on here before, If I do that it will be later and I want a really good set up, I have heard rumors that hileds may have something???
anyway, what I have now is just cheapo ricer headligts with the bluish tint and it is hella tacky next to my hileds, gotta do something, I think the osram's will be an improvement
heat is my concern and hileds info seems to conclude it isn't an issue with their led's, I guess I am a guinea pig:headbang:

I posted this way back when, sorry if ya missed it. Go ahead and use whatever halogen bulbs you want, they wont have any effect on the life of the 194 HiLEDS.

yup, that's what you said and I gathered that from the hileds info on their led's too, I was just throwin' it out there for anybody who may be wondering including myself, you know I'm paranoid and delusional at times:bow::wink:

I ordered all the stuff I needed from HiLEDs last Friday. Sent my Paypal payment to them. They haven't responded with anything. No invoice, no confirmation or anything. Is this usually how they operate?

You'll get the stuff without a doubt. Probably tomorrow or the next day I would guess.

Oh yeah, in a previous email they sent me, Robert said that the amount I would pay covers the "new style trunk light" too. I don't think they have those in yet so they'd have to ship that to me once they get those in. Hopefully not too long after I get the other lights I ordered.

IsLNdbOi, didn't you get payment verification from Paypal? I would check your paypal contact info. If you did a credit card transaction, the sales department will mail you the original sales slip and can fax you a copy.

Just got my wedges in the headligths. They look great! Better than I had thought. I can really compare also with the others I have in the interior. These are definatly a different quality alltogether. Even the chip itself looks quite different. The others do the job but these fuckers are shinin'
hey brick are they bright at night? as in you can see them or rather they illuminate some?
brickhardmeat

yes they are very bright, they fill the headlight with light when driving and make your car more visible in the day and evenings, this is only your "city light" though and you will nead to turn on your headlights to see the road, hope this helps
go out to your car and turn the lights one click up, this will turn on your "city lights" only, look at your yellowish dull bulb, now look above at that picture, remarkable difference
