What wheel next ??? Looks pretty funny with the stockers but really shows how worked the rear fenders and quarter panel is

Yeah. The fenders are a huge difference! Wheel wise it will be a surprise. But they will fill all the fenders now instead of just the rear. Now the waiting game
Haha, that does look pretty funny now. Great workmanship on the fender roll/pull though.

whatta tease! Just put some 50mm spacers in the rear for now. :P
wildmongoose26
01-31-2012, 02:08 PM
If only a 50mm spacer would work. These wheels at 6.5"+42. Old rear wheels were 8"+0. Would need like 65mm spaces to be as wide. Ha. And yes a tease. Although I am sad the funny thread about the sad rear fitmebt gets more attention then others ive started. Ha

Stock wheels? What car are they from?

The thing about steelies is... they cheap. REAL cheap. :D

These wheels are the wheels that came off THIS car from the dealership. They have only lived on the car for 3 weeks when we got the car, and in between wheels between selling and getting new ones.

umm steelies are a great way to make the car stance and stand out from the rest. A lil camber wouldn't be a bad thing either

Looks awesome. With my luck, having to practically come to a dead stop to keep from scraping on driveways, I'd get rear ended by a semi and be really :(

blu, not doubting steelies. They are fine. But people have been running diamond racing's for years now and they are about done.
As for camber. I have 3 degree's camber in the rear along with the extensive fender work to make an 8" +0 fit so i'm set there.
As for the front the front will need camber and a bit of fender work for the new wider lower offset wheels.

yeah i feel you on the front about the camber i'm running 9" all around et 0 im thinking of getting a set of 8's so i can run lil to no camber in the rear like -2.5deg
i avg about 9k outta a set of rubber

That may be more a toe issue then camber.
I have 3 degrees on the back and had about 12-14k on the tires and they looked like they had just as much left in em.

Yup, toe-in is the killer of tires.

Yup, toe-in is the killer of tires.
Not only toe-in...
I had camber in the rear for a while until I noticed the wear on my tires, they get noisy too (that's how I become aware for this issue).
Even the camber made my car look cool, and turn better I just couldn't afford the rubber.
You can see I had very little camber, but the geometry of the suspension + camber kills the rubber too, unfortunately:

lol, I'm not saying that camber won't kill your tires, but when people say, "yeah, my camber killed my tires," in reality it's the toe problem. Camber is just making less contact patch with the road, as if you're driving with really narrow tires. Also, camber in the rear doesn't really help a fwd car in turning. hehe.
Your tires might have started feathering, which may have been what caused them to be louder.
I would like to have your rims, btw. hehehe

Kao... Yes you are right,
I'm so naive in this topic and when I noticed the wear and studied the geometric of the suspension, it was clear to me that... when the wheel travels up and down the camber converts into toe. )o:
Thanks Kao, coming from you it's a big compliment (I know how honest your are when you don't like some thing) the O.Z. Ultraleggera have been a great match, not only with looks but overall performance.

No problem. Yeah, it took me some time to know what I know about suspension (still got tons more to know tho). Basic thinking is when ever a car is lowered (or suspension compressed), more negative camber is added. And when more negative camber is added, more toe-in occurs. So if you ever want to adjust your toe, adjust camber first, then adjust the toe.
No problem. I've always liked your sedan. So clean!

Yeah right! here is the owner of the cleanest Yaris sedan in the US speaking, and the inspiration for many, including my self.
