I just recently did mine using Herculiner paint on bed liner (which is also rated to be an undercoating).

I pressure washed it using Simple Green (which is a mild cleanser/degreaser) and vacuumed the handfuls of pebbles out of the bottom of the wheel wells.

I've always had good success undercoating cars with an oil spray (Krown in my area).
