Rear fog / reverse light question

My GFs 03 yaris 1.0 has only one reverse light - which I know is the norm. It also has a bulb wired up on the other side which I assume is the fog light.
What confuses me is that there are no switches on the dash for fog lights and there are no front fog lights. Soooo, is this basically a redundant bulb? Is there any way I could wire it up so that its a second reverse light, or can I buy a switch for the rear fog and simply plug it into the dash?

If you look under the dash on the driver's side, just above the fuse panel there should be an 8 pin connector (two pins on one row and 6 pins on the other). If it is there, then you can add the rear fog light switch, but you would also need the add the front fog light switch and relay, since it is driven by that. Or, you could add your own switch to supply 12 Volts to the light blue wire with the white stripe in pin 1 of the connector.
