There is a beautiful park 4 miles and 10 minutes away from my house. Is there a way to fit a regular size Mountain bike into a Yaris Sedan without bike racks?

without cutting it to bits? probably not. If it's only 4 miles, why not just ride there?

There is a stretch without bike path and a few traffic lights, I actually drove 5 mins once with half of the bike hanging out from the trunk lol. I regretted doing that because it scratched the plastic bumper.

Can't you remove the front wheel? Get quick releases for the fork.

I had 2 mountain bikes in my sedan once, no problem.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure if you took front and back wheels of it should fit in the back seat. My buddy stuck a 29er in a Nissan Sentra recently.

Take off wheels and seats.

Damn that might take a long time for me, since i have never taken wheels off a bike or seats out from a car... What tools are needed?

My Bike don't require tools to remove the seat or wheels, and takes 5 minutes.

What kind of bike is it? Most "legit" brands have quick releases on both wheels and the seat post. No tools are needed if they have quick releases. Just pull back the lever, loosen it, and remove the seat post. For the wheels, you would have to release the brakes (different brake types have different ways of doing this).

I'm pretty sure he meant the bike seats, not the car seats...

You shouldn't have to take the rear wheel off of the bike. I could fit my mountain bike in my sedan by removing the front wheel and putting the seats down in the car. I didn't have to remove my bike seat or even lower it. A bike rack is a very good investment, though.

If you have a sub in the trunk like I do you would have to. HAHAHA.

True true. I don't have a sub, but I did have to move the bodies around a little bit to get it all in there.

Step 1.Wash mountain bike, let air dry.
Step 2.Photograph mountain bike,then down load,and print.
Step 3.Place mountain bike picture in car.
Step 4.Your mission is now complete.

Remove the wheels and seat. Should slip right into that big truck without even folding the rear seats down.
Your m-bike does have quick releases on those parts doesn't it?????????????????

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. Last Saturday, I took the font wheel off and was able to fit it in the trunk with the second row seats down. Althought it took some time to squeeze it in and in the process scratched the bumper a little bit, but i had fun biking.

I saw some bike carriers on craigslist for $20, I might buy it depending on how often i will go biking...

I take it that this was a trunk rack? Go ahead and get it if you don't bike very much, and if you don't care about your car or your bike too much because they scratch your car like crazy, and I've seen plenty of those things fail.

they don't fall, when you see them fall cuz people are dumb enough not to know how to put them on properly. if they fall nobody will buy them. period.

but i agree with you they do make scratches on your car if you make a mistake putting them on incorrectly. mostly is actually the bikes causing the scratches when you put them on and off so you have to be careful.

I bought and installed a small, light weight 1 1/4 inch receiver. It was designed for attaching to my 3-door Yaris...no drilling, just inserting and tightening some bolts. Not designed for towing...but my 1 1/4inch bike rack attaches easily. The receiver can handle the weight of two bikes.
Easier to use than trying to disassemble/reassemble my bikes, once receiver was installed.

As a matter of fact, I am currently selling my folding bicycle;
http://lancaster.craigslist.org/bik/3188495892.html

If you hop on your local craigslist, I'm sure you can find some folding bicycles for sale near you.

For non-folding bicycles, I usually use a bike rack.

I just got my windshield replaced. As I already have a Montague folding mountain bike for the airplane, I brought it along, it was great to be able to take off and do other things while the glass guy did his thing. Two Montagues would fit inside I think, at least in mine, with no rear seat or spare. Carrying it inside of course doesn't create any extra drag.
