Is there any videos or instructions with pictures of people removing the Toyota emblem from the front and the back?
I want to paint them flat black and then put them back on, but I don't know if they are just on with double sided 3m tape or something else.
Thanks!

There's a couple of clips on the inside as well as the double sided tape. Remove the trim from the back door/hatch to get access.

Before you paint them you must sand and prep them,so the paint adheres to the emblems.

They changed the way they are mounted for the Gen3 model?
Prior years, the front emblem is four clips only. No tape. The rear emblem is tape only. No clips.

there is new method that a friend of mine told me about, its called plasti dip. he just recently tryed it on his IS250 and loved the results. after spraying on you can just easily peel off the excess paint with no problem. i might be trying that myself soon.

also isopropyl alcohol is a great solution for cleaning the surface and emblem....

A member from Corpus Christi,Texas just did his rims in a sort of orange color. Another member in the U.K did his in black. Search plastidip and plasti dip with the search fuction. One of these hits includes a link to a YouTube video about the sublect with many similar videos listed on the right once you are onto that YouTube page. i'm sure your friend will clue you in re how to do it (if he hasn't already), but these other posts and venues will give you an idea what different aftermarket wheels look like with different dip color combinations and different car colors.

The front emblem is deeper now and clips are a little different but it is still 4 clips on back

Plus on the 2012 there is an extra piece of impact abs between the radiator and the front bumper at the top where the emblem is....

On my 2011 does the rear emblem have clips or no? What is easiest way to remove? Just pry it off?
I can see this is not going to go well. :bonk:

Use plastidip, don't even have to take them off the car :)
