View Full Version : Please confirm this fit (185/60R 15 on 15x6.5 +38mm offset)

I've read all the fitment posts, and all I can about offset. But since I'm very new to all this, there's still a lot of confusion.

Am I correct that 185/60R 15 on 15x6.5 rims with a 38mm offset will fit without any rubbing issues on an unmodified Yaris?

Also, what, if any, change or effect would the change in offset from the original 45mm have on handling?

Found some wheels I like on craigslist and wanted a second opinion before buying.

185/60/15 on 15x6.5, ET45 will be an excellent fitment without any rubbing issues whatsoever.

the new rims I'm look at are ET38, not ET45.
will those still fit?

you should have no problem with that setup at all. BTW 185/60/15 is the stock tire setup so you already know that fits.

Exactly. Those tires are currently on the stock rims.
Just want to make sure there would be no problems with a new set of rims with different offsets.

Other than fit issues, what effect would the change of offset (from 45 to 38) have on ride, handling and such??

Or is it only a fit issue.

the offset change is going to push the wheel closer to the fender and the outside of the car. This wheel choice is not going to require any modification to work so no negative effects like rubbing should occur. The wider wheel and lower offset is going to widen the stance resulting in improved performance and handling. Hopefully the wheels are lighter than stock also improving performance.

What he said, 15x6.5 +38 will work perfectly. Btw - welcome, I'm from NEO as well. :)
