Hi Guys,

So, on all of my cars I've always filled my oil to the level that is mentioned in the manual. Usually this gets the level on the dip stick to about 50-75% of the normal level on the dip stick. I'm not concerned, but I've had some oil change places complain that I didn't supply enough oil to fill the car, and my damn mechanic decided to top up my expensive 0w30 German Castrol oil with some cheap shit and charge me for it, since the dip stick wasn't at the FULL mark. I do check my dip stick and the oil level doesn't change.

Whats everyones take on this?

Thanks

Hmmmm... when I put in the amount specified in the manual, I always end up more than the full mark...

I've never tried with a yaris, but with a 1.8L corolla and my old chrysler I've never hit the "full" mark.

I assumed its because the mid mark was cold, leaving room to expand when its heated....

Thats because there will allways be some residual oil in the engine. Unless u let it drain for a week.

You should be fine if the level is between 2 dots.

Around 1/2 a quart remains in the engine . Usually 3 and 3/4 quarts brings it to or slightly above the Full mark .
