So are we going to get a drive together?
yrsdrgn
03-13-2007, 09:31 PM
I wouldn't mind. If only more people joined us!!!! I also spotted a tuned Yarii down in the Presidio on Saturday afternoon and asked him if he was in Yarisworld.com. He said no and I told him to join!!! ^^

No offense but what would "we" all do once we meet? Have a circle jerk? Go for a "drive"? Swamp stories about smokin vets? And what fun is there in we all driving our Yaris on the road? Sounds boring, to be sure....again no offense...if you like that type of thing, all the horsepower to ya! lol

Yea does sound a bit boring but for me I'd just like to see what everyone else has done to their yaris (even though people have pics of them on here and wutnot) but i'd like to see them in person. the People in SoCal made it big so why not NorCal? haha and no offense taken hehe

haha, i was actually thinking about asking this. i'm up for it, if it fits my schedule that is.

03-21-2007, 09:28 PM
We'd hafta get a lot of interest before we start thinking of where to meet at. Then we'd need suggestions bout the meeting place n stuff hehe.
Kaotic Lazagna
03-21-2007, 10:43 PM
lol...not sure how possible it is, but if we get enough Yarii owner, and i mean ENOUGH, i was thinking about going over to the Sacramento drag strip, possibly renting out the track for a few hours after we meet up some where.
Kaotic Lazagna

never dragged in my life, but hey, sounds good to me.
yrsdrgn
03-21-2007, 10:48 PM
That sounds like a really nice plan but I'd probably not know how da heck to get there from SF. haha but that's a nice idea though.
Kaotic Lazagna
03-21-2007, 10:56 PM
hehe, ummmm, shoot, go towards Oakland, I think, then jump onto Vallejo/Sacramento and take that (I-80 East) all the way to Sacramento. i've only been to the track years ago when my cousin took me to watch some races, and all i can remember is that it's near the airport. so i'm assuming we would have to jump onto I-5 North and exit somewhere.
uhhh, another way i can explain is just to go towards Reno. lol...
Kaotic Lazagna
03-21-2007, 10:57 PM
oh, and i don't know how much it would be to rent out the track hourly...
yrsdrgn
03-21-2007, 11:01 PM
o haha. Let's see if anyone else is interested...so far only 3 NorCal people!!!!
Kaotic Lazagna
03-21-2007, 11:06 PM
hahah, i should drive down the street and ask the guy who owns this blazing blue LB if he's in YW and if he's interested. lol...show up at his door and suddenly start talking about Yarii. oh, oh, i should also leave a note on this one person's silver S sedan at Sac state too. hahahaha...hmmmm, i think i will. lol...

well i worked at sac raceway for 5 years and trust me, you don't want to attempt to rent the track unless you have 3-5k laying around lol, it would be cool to meet up on a wednesday night for the street legal drags and it's only $15 to race.
Kaotic Lazagna
03-30-2007, 03:58 PM
damn, 3-5k. nevermind renting it out. yeah, Wednesday Night Drags is a better idea. but we still need more people.

 wusup NorcaL! just new to the forum and glad to see there's a good number of yaris owners near or around sac. i've seen a lot on the road and i figured there's gonna be some riders who'd want to take the cars out to the limit. y'all got any ideas where to autocross around or do some runs at the mountains?
i was stickin wid my bro's cooper to yosemite last weekend and the road goin there and around there was GREAT!!!!! altho i still ride stock height, but at least i got 205/45/16's. gettin to lower the car soon, so yah, i'm really stoked to how faster i can go soon...
so yah, if y'all want, on a late saturday or REALLY early sunday at highway 49 in around auburn...but just make sure y'all bring ur radar detectors..hehe.. or a ride to yosemite up and down the swirlies. but uh... hehe.. of course a track is safer.
it'll be cool to meet you guys one of these days! :burnrubber: just post the date i'm down!

heh, it seems like the Yarii owners in NorCal live only in Sacramento and SF...here's a thought (taking it from our buddies up in Canada), there's two Yarii owners in SF, yrsdrgn and Galavoxx. there's three up here in Sac, me, El Jefe, and barebonedvitz. i was thinking that us 5 make a small meeting, like some members up in Canada did, go someplace and just have fun. what do you guys think?

Hey Vallejo representing here. And, since we're talking SF and Sac, Vallejo is almost right in the middle.
I can't decide what to do with my tax return:
1)Catch up on bills (which I really should do)
2)JDM RS tails and Blitz RVIT MMD
3)17" bronze Tenzo DC5's
Anyways back to the meet, I'm down so count me in. Email me chiefhyphy@hotmail.com.

I vote for the parking lot over here around Old Navy.
1)It's huge
2)It's easy to get to from the freeway (80E or 80W it doesn't matter)
3)Lot's of good places to eat
4)I live less than 5 minutes away!
It's sorta hard for me to be out of town for long periods of time. (I work 7 days a week)
Anyways, lately I've been seeing a few Yaris LB's around here although most are driven by older-eff-the-aftermarket-type drivers. I see more Yaris sedans than I see Honda Fits.

yes, that's a good place, pretty busy tho. there's a great Thai place near-by (Cha-am), Applebees, COSTCO, a Filipino place, Chinese places, Little Ceasar's down the road, movie theater, lots of other places. but yeah, i'd say (if we meet here), meet either to the side of the Pep-Boys, or across Pet-Co at the far-end of Old Navy.

The lot between Petco and Michaels is usually pretty vacant. The area between L&L and Office Max is often vacant too.
Mmm I had to mention L&L. Loco Moco!
I wouldn't mind a meet in the City. I like the idea of Yaris group pix with San Francisco as a backdrop. NorCal represent right!? I just don't like paying $8 to get down there (2 bridges!)

lol...i work at L&L here in Sac. not a huge fan of Loco Moco (probably because i waited too long to eat it that the gravy soaked into the rice). i got pretty tired of the katsu as well. hahaha. bbq beef is still good to me. and oh, oh, you have to get the bbq cheeseburger. hella good.
yeah, toll is getting outtahand. we would have to cross the Carquinez Bridge and the Bay Bridge. man, the Yaris should get some type of discount since it's eco-friendly. lol

L&L employee huh? Does that mean you can get an employee discount? Where is the L&L up there anyway?
LOL, yah we can have Michael's, Bed Bath and Beyond, plus Old Navy as a backdrop!
Man, I'm so tired of the katsu. It's my favorite thing on the menu but it's also my most ordered. Loco moco sounds gross cold, I always have eaten it fresh.
Anyways, IF we all decide on Vallejo, we can always cruise to the waterfront for pix. Actually I can think of a few picturesque places. Dan Foley park? Shit, the park on Jack London @ sunset even (that way we can use the bathroom and #2 at your pad! J/K!)

L&L was a regular stop for us back home, and believe it or not, they just opened a new L&L's here in modesto. its still new they dont even have a menu posted inside! kalua pig tasted the same as back home, although the katsu was a bit dry and tough. havent tried anything else yet. no kim chee in stock.

i get the kalua pork with the cabbage cooked with it. good, but not one of my favorites. i think the cooks there are putting too much flour and deep frying it too long. heh, the cooks where i work at are great, but i can't say the same for the one off of I-80. i got sick when i ate there. we usually have kimchee, and we even have malasadas. hahaha. i sold out of malasadas yesterday though. heh.

This is the 1st time I've read a thread post on this forum with my stomach growling and my mouth watering. Fuck, I think I'll go there for lunch tomorrow.
There's a park off of Jack London (about a 1/4 mile down after turning off of Meadows) that's next to the Napa River. Although you don't see any water, it's surrounded by those 'hot dog swamp plant thingies' with highway 37 and the bridge in view.
Eff it, I'll be willing to cough up $8 for a meet in the City. I think Twin Peaks is as picturesque as it gets. 2 lane winding roads, a view of almost the entire Bay Area what more can you ask? Too bad thousands of tourists think the same thing too.
BTW I did notice the katsu is kinda tough usually. But there's something about katsu sauce, breaded chicken, rice, and mac salad. Shit man I gotta eat!

i just finished me a regular bbq chicken, all rice and extra cabbage. man, that oil on the cabbage...ahhh, good stuff. i do the same with the bbq beef. like i said before, i got sick with the L&L off of I-80 here because of their mac salad. got traumatized by it, so i always get all rice now. hahaha
eh, i vote for the water-front if the meeting were to be in Vallejo. otherwise, the City it is (even though i'm going to need directions. i've only driven near and around the wharf, staying away from those steep hills.)

Modesto's actually not that far from Sac. All you gotta do is head down I-5 and you'll end up there.
Sausilito (or however you spell it?!) is I think the NW corner of the GG. There's a vista point on the NE corner. The Presidio is at the SE corner. There's a few spots at the SW corner, with a nude beach and GG Park among them. The vista point would make a great spot except for the tourist hordes, and the fact that the GG costs $5 for toll. The Presidio and the SW area are probably better (esp since I'm always seeing great photos of the GG from these areas.) It's just that I'm very unfamiliar with those areas.
Chiefy707

The SW area is called Baker Beach. I only heard about the nude beach but I think it's true. Even then only part of the beach would have nekkid fools running around.

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS!!!!
Nothing like the #8 seed beating the #1 team! Still, they need to win 3 more games but the Warriors owned Dallas the whole season.

Serramonte's pretty easy to get to since it's right off 280. Going there back in the day meant funk. As in gang fights over a color or a wrong look. Shit I hated going there but the girls, man!
Shopping-wise there ain't shit over there. Shit, I think Hilltop, Solano, and even the fucking Florin Mall offer better shopping! At least it has a pet shop though, or at least it had a pet shop. Nothing like a pet shop to break the monotony of clothing and shoe stores. It's like a zoo at the mall. I just googled Serramonte, the pet shop is still there.

I'll bring my tarantulas.
I'm all for Vallejo. I was thinking about a group cruise though, considering the Bay Area is rimmed by the 101 to the west, 237 to the south, 880 on the east and 780 to 80 then 37 in the north.
It's not like we should meet in Vallejo then cruise the Bay and stop for a BBQ at Yosemite all in 1 day though. Summer isn't here yet and when it is it's more than 24 hours long. BTW I don't want to roll through Yosemite until I get my rims (wider rubber FTW!)
Something like that would need planning. And, since it might be a pretty big deal going to Yosemite, might as well get the SoCal Yarii in on this and meet up with them somewhere halfway. (Then again maybe Yosemite isn't as far south as I'm thinking it is)

ya, same here. i agree.. it takes big planning especially if we're hookin up wid socaL... that'll be sick if we can puLL it off! yeee

Dammit this thread is becoming AIM! I'll post, read another thread, comeback here and find my post replied to... more than once!
Anyways I was wondering what do you guys want to end up doing to your Yaris? Will you keep it as a daily driver? A weekend toy? A trailer bitch showcar?
I'll start:
Daily driven 07 hatch future mods (hopefully):
Exterior
-17" Tenzo DC5's
-Kaminari bodykit
-OEM Canadian Toyota foglights
-JDM Vitz RS taillights
-CQ Lighting HID's
Interior
-Red interior light kit for the rear
-Greddy Informeter or Blitz RVIT MMD
-A1 Electric power locks and windows
Drivetrain
-TRD drop in air filter, no CAI for me
-TRD short shifter
I don't care for ICE so long as I can hear what's playing with the windows down on the freeway. I can actually get the rims, tails, and MMD right now but me and my GF are arguing over the money. If anything I will at least get the MMD since I need a tach.
Something I'm always daydreaming about is a 2zzGE swap which actually isn't out of the question. My 2nd car is a 03 Matrix XRS that's almost paid for and I want to get rid of. It has over 120K miles so it would be useless as a trade in. Still, it's just a daydream because I would still need to rebuild the engine and tranny. That and I turn something that was once fuel friendly into something that isn't. Plus the 2zz uses a throttle cable so a swap wouldn't be smog legal. I can daydream though right? A 2zz Yaris would be the ultimate sleeper.
yrsdrgn
04-25-2007, 09:27 PM
I'm just going to keep mine as a daily driven Yari.
other than that I'm set. if i tried doing body kit I'm sure that I wouldn't be able to make it up my driveway and it'd be one of the cars to be damaged in a parking lot around here.
hehe let's hold off on our current/future upgrades for this thread until we have the meet hehe we can discuss the mods then yes yes? hehe until then, we can think of questions to ask each other haha.

Oh ha you work at the L&L by Subway/Frys? My gf lives in Natomas off Club Center. She has a blazing blue LB. Dealer just installed her TRD shocks/springs, spoiler, etc..
I've seen a billion sedans around, as well as a white LB that lives across the street from her, and a blazing blue LB that's always on Del Paso near Safeway.
Anyway, she's been begging me to take her to SF. It'd be cool to meet some other Yaris owners (even though we'd probably take my MR2), whether here in Sac or down by the bay.
So how about picking a weekend to get together on.. Maybe in a couple Saturdays or something.
