ET38 or ET42

Found some wheels I like (MB Wheels Seven X), 15" x 6.5

with two options for offset 38mm or 42mm

As a complete newbie, I need the advice of the members of this forum.

What would be the difference between the two offsets?

The 42 is closer to the stock offset.
It seems the 38 would push the tire out more. But the 42 would keep the tire closer to its original location (relative to the bearings and suspension).

Why would you pick one over the other?
What about load on the bearings, etc.

And anyone have any experience with MB Wheels?

I would go with the 38. The offset is going to push the wheel closer to the outside of the fender. The 42mm offset is almost oem spec and at 6.5in wide, that is a ultra conservative set up. I would reccomend you go with the lower offset which will widen the stance, make it look better and improve performance. That set up is still very conservative and will have no negative impact on the car.

Don't worry about the bearings. I run 15x9 all around and race at the track, never had a bearing go out. It's just not a valid issue.

+38mm will look better and you will have no rubbing with a 15 x 6.5 size wheel. You should go 15x7, but that's up to you.

MB is an economy wheel -- I haven't heard of an failing, but it might not last forever. You should email us and see if Jeff can match whatever deal you're getting. We do wheel and tire packages as well, and he will guide you to the perfect combination.

I've had two sets of MB Wheels, although the ones I bought were actually A-tech wheels (http://www.marukanet.co.jp/a-tech/index.html) that are sold under the MB Wheels name in the U.S. Both were great.

Please dont buy mb wheels, i work at discount tire where we sell ass loads of those, we all ways have people coming in for vibration checks and it is always a bent wheel, but i also live where the roads suck, so if you have decent roads youll be fine, but beware they aren't the best wheel in the world..
