Hi everybody, ive been reading and learning alot on this forum and i thought id post pics of my sound system! i dont have any pics of the car because its a bone stock bayou blue 5 door yaris.
I started with some switches, to power on/off the amp and the second switch is/was for a computer fan to cool off the amp.

Here's the amp im using, Its a Alpine MRP M1000.

Let me know what y'all think!
that's gigantic. Does it make it hard to steer when the bass hits?
Looks pretty cool to me. What else did you mod for the stereo?

If he ever runs out of gas he can probably just open the hatch and crank up some dub step.
Is that sub box too big for the removable back shelf?

Why?:Its pretty big but its not harder to steer lol but the steering flexes quite a bit, pretty much like the whole car
At the moment theres only the sub and amp that i added, im about to change the rear doors speakers for some JBL i got here laying around.I am also waiting to get me a piece for 0gauge so i can do the Big 3 upgrade
Damo: Yes it is lol the box is way to high and deep to be hidden under the shelf, Shes only layin on top of the box with the strings hanging off the hatch. i had to lean the backseat forward to get the box in to fit.
since you mentioned it what exactly is the big 3 upgrade? It is always mentioned but no details are given, i assume it is upgrading the alternator/electrical/etc, but never seen an actual explanation.

Why?: I dont know if you have looked it up on youtube, but its basicly adding some 0gauge wire under the hood without replacing the stock ones. Its all about adding a alt+ to battery +, Then a batt- to chassis (like shock tower) and then Batt- to the engine block.
When i had my mazda before i had really bad light dimming with the same sound system i installed in my yaris. Once i put the Big 3 in the mazda it wasnt dimming anymore and my voltage was more stable. I took the wires had in my previous car but one of the wires is not long enough so im gonna have to buy some.

agree
I also added a fuse block in line between the alt + and battery + ..

I personally think gauge 2 is already overkill

The less resistance, the better. The more potential one can throw across the wire, the better (in general terms).

I never added a fuse between but i guess its something for safety.
With my mazda i had tried with 4gauge and it didnt make as much as difference as with the 0gauge.

So i never got to update this post, I bought some 12s Skar audio VVX and i built a box for em, box dimensions are 36 wide x 15 deep x 18,75 high. tuned to around 28-30hz.Drove with it for about 2 months until i got over the bass trip. Way to heavy to go fast :P so its out now but i still have it. The skars we're pushed by a Alpine MRP-1000.

12" Skar 2.5" dual VC, 600w rms. Each subs weigh in at 24.4 pounds.

The amp was pretty jammed up in a corner so i added a computer fan to get the air circulating.

For a first time building my own box, i think it turned out, "Not so bad".

When i had that setup to me it wasnt enough, i needed more power to get the real output out of these subs, but i was lacking money for batteries, better power overall, so i just removed it. sold the alpine amp and now theres nothing audio wise except the stock speakers

It was crazy, i dont have the setup anymore but it was installed without any deadner at all.It also flexed alot, it was fun having that setup in. but way to heavy to get good mpg or to get fast :P
