I have a Sansdisk Cruzer Blade 32GB.
However, the Yaris is not able to detect it.
Does anybody has a similar problem and willing to share your solutions?
Thank you!
i think we need more info from you. Please be more specific as in what are you plugging it into, what are you trying to use it for, what model you have, what is stock or not, etc.

Yes, I am referring to the USB interface in the glove compartment of the New Yaris (2012).
I have formatted the 32GB Sansdisk Cruzer Blade in FAT 32 format, and loaded it with MP3s. It can be detected on every PC except in the car.
Would you have any ideas what went wrong? Thank you!

fat32 file format could be your problem right there. it might need to be reformatted back to ntfs . i know only certain systems recognize fat32. ps3,xbox, some computers etc..

It says in the manual to use FAT32 or FAT16.
Might just be that specific device, have you tried another thumb drive or iPod?

I'm just guessing, but the deck in your car might have the capacity to read an SD card, but not an SDHC card. I was recently trying to upload a pic for Hershey to view and one of my computers I was using (running Windows 7 Home Premium) wasn't recognizing the card. I did some research and found that the card reader might be the issue. I have 4 external card readers of various vintages and I then examined all of them. 2 are marked with SDHC as one of the acceptable formats and 2 do not list SDHC. The card reader I was having trouble with re recognizing the card was one of the 2 that did not list SDHC. I switched to one of the SDHC marked card readers and the same computer instantly recognized the previously unrecognized card. The card in question that I was using is a 16GB card.
edit: Ugh, I should have read more of the posts before posting. IF canjobil and the OP have the same head unit, then my suggestion above is not likely to be correct. I think Why? is right, we need to know which head unit the OP has in order to give the most constructive suggestions.

But the Swiss (CHDM?) head unit offerings might be different from USDM (and thus have different manuals).

Indeed. The number of different head units Toyota uses is staggering, and they are all different. The easiest way to figure out which one is in your car is to take it out and read it from the top. This is surprisingly easy to do in the Yaris.

Except jpmkc's post is probably for USDM, which will almost definitely differ from everywhere else in the world.

Pretty much any computer will recognize fat/fat 32

Fat 32 is old technology. Didn't realize it was still around.

Sandisk devices have a weird thing where they can operate in two modes (MSC or MTP). Try checking what mode it is currently setup for and trying the opposite. I had a similar issue with a Sandisk Sansa that one of my kids has.
