Check out these images of suped up Yarii. I only have info on one. But the others do give some ideas. Oh the fresh American body kit can be found at http://www.kaminari.com (Google Kaminari Yaris body kit to find lower prices like here http://www.eautoworks.com/html/search-1-Kaminari~Yaris~body~kit.htm)

Most of this is old news, although I have never seen that blue liftback with the blue rims.

Oh, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that first meteorite liftback is the one with the Tacoma engine and a RWD conversion?

Yeah. Old news. True. But the Yaris is not a year old in the States. So some of us getting hooked only this year are looking for some flashy images.

Oh and stop spreading rumors about a Tacoma engine in a Yaris. I strongly doubt a six cylinder engine could fit in a Yaris 3-dr liftback or even the sedan. (Maybe it could be squeezed into the sedan, but I doubt that too.)

I'm being tempted to start playing with my Yaris after these pics .. STOP IT lol

I haven't looked into the Tacoma thing but with $$$ anything is possible. People said that a VG30DETT from a Z32 Nissan Fairlady Z (300ZX Twin Turbo) wouldn't fit into an S13 yet alone an S12 and it's been done.

BUT a Corolla 1.8l engine. Now that sounds do-able. Here's my story...

I'm at the dealership and I mention to the salesman about buying one to turn into a project car. He says, "You know I never thought about that." We get to speaking and after I mention the Blitz supercharger, he says, "I've seen a Corolla engine output like 225hp. Yeah I'm starting to see this with a Corolla engine with machined cylinders. And I could get you the Corolla engine for something like $800 to 1,200 (USD)."

Eyes wide open, I'm like, "Really?"

"Yeah, he says. An engine doesn't cost that much."

So it looks like I should have created a thread about swapping out a Corolla engine into a Yaris. There may be more lee way with the Corolla engine.

Now that is just fucking awesome!!

DIdn't realize that there were mad scientists at work on these cars already.

Dude, that orange SEMA liftback was claiming an eventual 350 HP!

If that isn't some weird science, I want to know what is!

(Cue the 80's VHS box photos)

oh my

jamaican me crazy with this fn search function. i feel like the cat in Tom and Jerry and the search function is the mouse. i tried two searches before i posted those comments. i said let me look this ..it up before i comment.

well ain't that hot. strictly for racing. post the thread if it has some descriptive words. i'll try my hand at this BLASTED SEARCH FUNCTION you keep mentioning in the mean time.

this car makes me want to purchase a garage to work on my ride. Look at this hotness you have presented. The xA just doesn't have that outside race appeal. Maybe (in part) because of car width the Yaris/Vitz has that appeal.

You know on that same page is the Volvo C30. That car, believe it or not, is what got me yearning for a Yaris. I saw the Volvo C30 and got hungry for a 2 dr coupe hatchback little zip around the city ride. But it's just not here in the States. And I don't need the ride yet, so I kept looking for a car to dream about. All of a sudden I see this Yaris. In the street it looks female. But I keep looking at it and I get this feeling I used to get when I was in High School, when I used to like the Civic hatchback. I never could understand why, I liked that car. But now I know why. No one to answer to and room for myself alone. With just enough room for one cute girl.

But when you see (and sit in) the Yaris it is very high up somehow. I think it demands a lowered stance of an inch or two. I'd hate to drop into a NYC pothole in a Yaris. Ouch.

eh, i don't consider fwd cars to be able to "drift". just like what one of the comments in that thread said. i dunno, just me.

haha, S13/14's, Hachi Roku's, FC/FD's...the "common" drift cars. i would like to own any of those, except the Mazda's.

yeah, i would like a supercharger for daily driving or stuff, but for all out crazy fun, i want a rwd Yaris.

Can you believe I've never driven RWD. I feel so chaste and clean.

the only rwd that i've driven (from what i remember) was my '92 Miata.

This is my 1st front wheel drive ever. My 3 mustangs i have owned 4 t-birds and 1 truck and my pathfinder all rwd. its different.. its funny feeling the car pull through the stearing wheel especially on hard excel..

Right, but that car had a RWD conversion... they built it to drift.

Actually I'm not so chaste, I've driven my Mom's '82 or '83 (80-something) Celica that was RWD. But I barely had my license back then and wasn't so interested in discerning how the ride handled. I do remember easily sliding in the rain. I'm for FWD, for the most part. But all wheel drive sounds awfully tight on a Yaris. Toyota has 4 wheel drive on the Japanese Vitz (not to mention push button start). This car in the States is something very different overseas.

Treyz

The body doesn't cut it for drifting in my eyes. Comparing it to my 240 and other dirft cars, they pretty much have the same profile ... long and low to the ground (even at stock height).

As for FWD drift cars, it is a different function but still considered a drift. Here's from my packet when I worked Formula D last year:

FF Drift or front wheel drive drift is a technique in which the E-brake as well as steering and braking techniques are used to balance the car through a corner. Note that the E-brake is the main technique used to balance the drift.
