Honestly, type in a search for sales feedback. You get nothing (except now probably this thread). Why not have a system similar to that of ebay, or of other car-specific blog/websites?

This isn't legitimate, nor is it what I'm getting at. Plus, it's obviously a poorly worded thread if you search "sales feedback" and it doesn't come up. I'm talking about sales feedback listed on your profile. With other sites, you link feedback to the thread and you get a score (similar to a post count). A poorly produced "sticky" thread makes it a chore to scour through and it's a deterrent to people posting feedback. Don't believe me? How is it that the thread's only 7 pages long in all of these years?

LOL you've been here a year and you don't yet see that asking for structural upgrades to the site is an exercise in pointlessness? Gotta do what we can with what we got I'm afraid...

And you've been here since 2006, arguably during a time when this site was actually successful, and did nothing about it? It wasn't even suggested up until this point? I realize this site sucks, it's just amusing that nothing's been done to fix it.
This site has (or could have had) a decent amount of potential. Gas prices are inevitably on the rise, and micro cars have become more popular (and yet this site is on the decline). Unfortunately, those who attempt to give decent feedback are ridiculed for their actions.

Well, I guess obviously you get SOMETHING since even YOU noticed the thread.
How about "oh, thank you, I saw that thread but I was hoping for something else." instead?
How can peeps not make fun if you cope an attitude right from the get go, hmmmm?
Not to sound harsh, but yup, the site could stand a lot of improvements but it is what it is. As such, you can still use it and benefit from it, as it is, if you want. If you don't, that's OK too, what can I say. :iono:

But to respond seriously to your comment, OP, and in case you haven't been around and were sincere, heavy structural changes in this forum are hard (impossible?) to obtain. The admins don't show up much so it's hard. Still, leaving a constructive suggestion is still the best thing we can do. Just don't get your hopes up though.

Well as you could imagine, at the site's start, it was a tight-knit community where everyone knew each other, and these cars being so new, there just wasn't a whole lot of trading and selling of second-hand parts yet. So a sales feedback system was not necessary for quite a while, especially as there had not been any major drama.
If I recall, the first kind of drama is what prompted the creation of that feedback thread, I think there was a member who was supposed to make a subwoofer box for another member but did not deliver and disappeared (it's kinda foggy at this point). At that time, getting the admins to do anything was already an exercise in futility. Had to do what we could!
Anyway I absolutely agree with you, this forum could be so much more, and I have mad respect for the current moderators who try to keep a handle on things.

Yea what i'll do is add an e-bay style user rating system that will let people give postitive or negative feedback to a user based on a sale

Even with a more robust feedback thread, there's no guarantee you won't get ripped off. You are dealing with people on the interwebs afterall...
There's a long history to this site and it's not what it once was or even could have been, but it is still chock full of good information (though A LOT was lost during the hack) and friendly folk despite all of that.
It is what it is - take it or leave it.

We just added user reputations on our forums, it's a cool feature but I'm not sure if it really is related or very helpful to buyer/seller confidence or security. We'll see over time if it serves that purpose.

^ Don't know if you saw my mention of it in the chat room yesterday. That reputation feature is not working properly. Looks like a condition code is the reverse of what it should be.

It's working fine now. You are welcome to post further feedback over there?
