After 4 years and 70k miles, I finally pulled the trigger on some fun additions to the daily.

Most likely the same offset as the OP. I'm running 16x7 +20 front and 16x8 +20 rear
very nice!! does the front rubs on dips ?

-Megan coilovers (comes with 6/3. I tried 6/5, 8/6, and now on 12/10 )
-front SPC camber bolts
-rear 23mm Whiteline swaybar (nonadjustable)
-Corbeau FX1 Pro (a bit too big for me)
-XXR 527 17x8.25 +25 Hyper Silver direct fit
-Falken 912 205/40/17
-fenders rolled and a bunch of trimming
Still rubs some on bigger bumps but there's more I can trim inside the fenders. It 3 wheels driveways pretty well and feels great on the mountain roads here.
Proper fitment and decent handling while keeping the appearance subtle was the primary goal so I'm happy.
wow your ride must be stiff. how bad is it with springs like that?

Whoa, your car must have drank a Viagra to be that stiff. lololol. But yeah, those are track spring rates. I'm assuming you have the dampening set to full soft or near full soft?

looks real good!
but hope you dont ever leave cali, cause those spring rates might just rattle your fillings out of your teeth.

I think it's comfortable.
The dampeners are set to 9.
Cali roads are not glass. TN and NC were better.
But my standards are skewed. I drove my Z from the Atlantic to the Mississippi and a bunch of other places. (Warning: "Nissan Shrine" content coming)

Ooh boy. Way too stiff/low for me. Looks fantastic, and you really set that silver on silver off properly but I couldn't drive that every day. I'd have to raise it up a little and probably go minus 1 on the wheels and rubber bands.
Props for your threshold of patience. :drinking:

I'm a fan of double d's, and this proves to be no exception. I'll agree with Sav it's a little low for me, but man it sure does look cool enough.
oh wow, i love the tire spoiler, not to mention the paint job. I have a feeling someday I'm going to own some sort of Nissan set up to drift.
Still coming back and drooling on ur stance n car look .. Lol

DAAAAAMN thats so nice!! I was all up to buy those wheels in gold with the same spec but ended up buying 16x8 xxr 521 instead. Damn... I love that stance. Should go 195 tires tho!
195 would be to far stretched IMO .
DD, do you have any pictures for how much are the tires stretches from the rims ?
I'm getting the same set in gold ... Soon :)
Thx man

Depending on the profile size, 195 on an 8 isn't too bad

http://www.tyrestretch.com/8_195_55_R16/
Here's 205/40/17 on an 8, just in case you are curious. The smaller side wall makes a big difference.

195 and 205 will both work great on an 8" (or 8.25" in this case) wheel. Just depends how much mild stretch you want.
gonna get those in gold as soon as they're available.... I'll be getting rid of the faux brembo cover and the bigger disc conversion. Time to get the real front BBK .
195s on 8/8.25 are perfect!

very nice, im considering the same rear swaybar how do you like yours?
Benedict
04-19-2012, 11:38 AM
To fit these wheels camber stretch and fender trimming is mandatory, just FYI.
The rear sway was a nice improvement and reduced the tail wagging sensation this car has during corners. Raising the spring rates seemed to reduce it more than the sway, but any reduction is a benefit.
195's could fit and depending on the tire brand may stretch more. Falken's typically run small so it may not be much of a difference. I wanted Falken (my preference) and 205/40's because they're so easy to get (also, falken doesn't offer 195 for this model anyway).
This is my daily driver so I intentionally kept it mild. I had my fun with the Z (215/35's on 18x10 and 255/35 18x12)

-fenders rolled and a bunch of trimming
Still rubs some on bigger bumps but there's more I can trim inside the fenders.
Any way you can give me details on the trimming you did and possibly any close up pics? I really need to roll my fenders at the least, but for now I picked up a set of those Firestone Air Rides like CTScott to stiffen things up to reduce rubbing in the rear.
Looks very tasteful btw. :w00t:
did you use any shim camber on the rear ? and did you also strech the rear fender ?
I talked to Jeff@microimage, he said I have to get the spc bolt camber on the front for sure and push the top of the wheel all the way in to do the alignment, but I forgot the ask about the rear.
Im trying to get the same wheel in gold .... , but with yokohama 195/40/17 S drive tires.
thanks man,
Tan

Yes camber bolt is required up front. No camber change for the rear. I did move the rear suspension arm's mounting bolt to the top hole and it is within OEM alignment specs with no correction needed.
My fenders are rolled but not pulled. I tried rolling them with my Eastwood fender roller but was unsuccessful. The yaris sheet metal is so thin it was not possible to roll them without also pulling at the same time. I ended up doing the majority of the roll with the wooden handle of a hammer.
Trimming and cutting is needed too. Front fender liners were trimmed away from the fender lip and bumper's edge. Bumper tabs were cut off and the metal mounting spot cut away from fender. Rear fender needs the point between the quarter panel and the inner fender sheet metal cut and hammered flat.
If you want tight clearances like mine then 6/3k spring rates will not work.
Red on gold should look neat.

I love that Wheels!!!!!! XXR right? Nice looking stance! ;-) Like FLUSH STYLE!!! ;-) ;-)

For that width, try any wheels with around +40 - +45 offsets .
Why no lowered ? Singapore road is good enough as far as I remember ...
