Where do you guys all get those sweet rock and bug deflectors ive seen some members with? Ive seen a thread about one that was a toyota part. Do you just go into your toyota dealer and ask for a list of accesory parts? Because every time I google "yaris bug deflector" it only pulls up vent shades (which I also want) Mostly I want one because I was washing the car today and noticed a few small chips in the leading edge of my hood just behind the bumper :frown:

Also can someone recomend me a set of mud flaps, the more economy based the better but I want an ok quality that isnt going to fall apart in a few days. Because I have been collecting alot of hard to remove gunk behind my front and rear wheels.

Thanks
Sean Scott

I need to get a good set of mud flaps, too. I don't dare buy anything from Ebay without a recommend first.

I just check the seller's rating.. usually works (no problems so far).. especially if it is 100% positive

I recently bougth mudflaps for 21 bucks shipped.. not yet received.. will post pics once installed

Thanks man. I am starting to get some serious buildup behind he wheels that I dare not try to scrub real hard on. My gf thinks im crazy to be taking this nice of care of a "economy" car but I really like this little car and I see no reason to just let it get trashed up. and i kinda like making it "mine" with a few personal add ons.

Thanks

Tell her that's what everyone thought about Corollas in the 70s and 80s and look where they are now (especially the GTS/AE86)

Yup. It's your car, do what you want to/with it.

Matt, do you notice any improvement with the bug/rock guard?
I've been debating getting one ever since I got a big chip in my paint, but I don't want the rocks to get deflected into my windshield.

honestly i dont see how it really does much haha i feel like its mostly for looks, its just a small strip on the hood, i havent had any specific instances where i can remember it actually doing its "job"
another thing is if you leave it on for long periods of time i feel like those clips will mess up the paint either way. mine broke a while ago and i had to diy the clips and i added some foam where it makes contact with the hood i also painted it same as car color

If you have any pics of the rear with those rally flaps on, please post.

i only have this one but yeah from the back it looks a little weird i need to get another pic cuz i actually took the back ones off and now just have the front ones and oem in the back but i want to re mount the back ones but maybe a little higher up

someone said before might look to much like a garbage truck HAHAH
i dont think its a horrible look i just want to get them on there right this time cuz i already took them off once

Hmm. I dunno. I don't see the truck reference, personally.
If anything, that upper part that protrudes out slightly at the top makes them look a little like they belong on a different car, but not that big a deal.
Other than that, I'd say they add a nice look. And the longer length, imo, is better than the short oem flaps.

why?

actually i think that look is perfect. it protects the side of the car just enough from the tires throwing out rocks.

Stick with the ones from Toyota. Perfect fit without looking like an 18 wheeler. I also have the bug guard. It's a Toyota Canada part not sold at US dealers. I've had it on for 4 years now with no troubles.

I found these on Flea bay,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Mud-Flap-Splash-Guards-suit-for-Toyota-Vios-YARIS-/220839259033?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item336b0bab99&vxp=mtr

i would not be super disapointed if they were the wrong thing (still not a big fan of throwing 20 bucks away) But what do you guys think? I wanted some mud flaps that that werent so huge they looked rally or truckish but big enough to help.

Also on fleabay I found a bug deflector but its just a generic picture and its 70 bucks. Idk if i would be willing to spend that kind of money just in case its the wrong thing But here it is. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-2011-YARIS-4-DOOR-SEDAN-HOOD-WIND-DEFLECTOR-BUG-STONE-SHIELD-SMOKE-ACRYLIC-/130656969302?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e6bc32256&vxp=mtr

Thanks all

I like that hood deflector but its so hard to see against the black if someone has a pic of one on a non black car post it. It looks better that way. Sorry Matt lol

In reference to those oem-ish flaps mentioned above on ebay...Meh. The rally ones Matt put on look better, imo. They're larger and make more of a statement, thus making them more functional, LBVS.

I am usually bought the parts from theautopartsshop.com and carpartsshed.com, but I cannot found mud flaps on both of them. So I suggested you to look at JC Whitney.
