View Full Version : More comfortable armrest for 2009 Toyota Yaris Sedan?
I purchased a 2009 Toyota Yaris Sedan with an automatic transmission last week. The armrest looks like this:

After driving the Yaris for a few days, I've found that the armrest is too far back and not very comfortable to use. :( In the 1998 Ford Taurus SE Comfort I was driving previously, the armrest is much closer to the front and much more comfortable.
Are there any other armrests I can install that stick out closer to the front?
I found this armrest which looks closer to the front:

As far as I can tell, however, this will only work on a hatchback or a liftback.
Any help would be appreciated.

The microimage.com armrest sits a little lower, but sticks more forward. I find it more comfortable, as it "fits" my right arm. I'm 5'10".

The optional armrest that Toyota sells is probably closer to what you are looking for. You can buy it at a dealer or on Ebay (where I bought mine). My complaint is that the material they use on the Toyota version starts to rub into your skin after a long day. I would think getting a leather cover would stop that, but I haven't tried to cover it yet.
swidd,
Do you know if the Micro Image armrest works on the sedan?
I see a lot of options for liftback/hatchback, but none for the sedan.
daf62757,
I've seen this before and even posted a link to it:

However, I can't find any evidence that it will work on the sedan. Do you have reason to believe that it will? Or are you referring to a different part?

I don't know. It probably says where it fits on the website.

I have the same armrest, but I have a liftback. The armrest uses a large steel rod that is bent and fits under back of the two front seats. As long as the distance between the seats are the same, it should work the same. Its worth a try. It does make a world of difference when you are driving long distances to have it.

I have a 2009 Yaris 4 door base and the center armrest does not come up high enough to meet my elbow, is there a fix for this.
