Did you notice CTScott chiming in there?
don't think that was him, just someone trying to figure out what his sig was about.
But it doesn't surprise me, I mean they choose to drive vehicles that spend tons of time in the shop with electrical gremlins. Do you think anyone that does that is really that bright?
As always the smart ones get it and the rest are just fools.

haha its funny how they were all admiring Garm's yaris too. a bunch of people said they like our laid back attitude lol.
and yes i saw ctscotts sig that was funny.
but the one guy who started the thread got flamed making him look like a douche bag. Serves him right
everyone has different point of viewing things
i used to have a 2007 civic and this yaris is much more fun to drive way less beautiful BUT way more fun to drive

That's a fun read. I'll take the mixed reviews and SIX pics of my car and respectfully say thanks. I have always loved and appreciated the engineering of VW cars, and my first car ever was a 1962 Karmann Ghia, which I miss to this day.
Oh yeah......I'm available to sell them parts, too... "Micro Image is an equal opportunity performance shop."

Thanks for the link. Read the whole thing! Liked how they almost turned on each other. Makes me want to buy a Yaris now.
(Garm, sell stuff to them at a slightly higher profit margin!)

^ Precisely. The hilarity of it is watching them turn on each other.

I do find it interesting that some of them assume we drive a Yaris because that's all we can afford. For some of us, that couldn't be further from the truth.

THEY LOVE US, THEY REALLY LOVE US.
"I certainly hope the folks at Yarisworld don't stumble upon this thread as all the bickering is embarrassing...."
....Boy that's good stuff.

Well they can keep their GTI's and I'll keep my Yaris. I'm not in the shop every 1000 miles because something started to do funny things, I ain't broke because its an overprised car.
You'll always have people who their car is better than everyone else's

I'd bash my friends GTI right now, but it's a good car when it starts, or runs, or when the windows work. sometimes they go down for no reason and wont go back up until they feel like it :D
It's comfortable, though.

Drove a buddy's 2009 R32 a few times. Very fun to drive.

My crane yard (my day job) is a mile down from a big high school on a 4 lane road with a 45 mph speed limit. If I time it just wrong, as I leave the yard in the Yaris heading for home, it can be a wait of 5 or 10 seconds before a gap in the traffic occurs, that's unacceptable in Idaho.
Today, eager to get home and resume real life, as I pulled up to the intersection and eyeballed both ways, it was clear that if I got on it RIGHT NOW, I could safely enter the traffic stream, if not there was another big gaggle of teenagers headed from both directions. Though dreading the hit on my mileage total at the next fillup, I abandoned Granny mode and romped on that little sucker, and as a few times before was rewarded what felt like pretty spritely acceleration, and smoothly entered the traffic flow no problema. I didn't time it, but it was more then adequate, I didn't get flipped off anyway. And, the days total upon reaching home, via the ScanGauge, was still 46.5 mpg.

To each his own, I guess, especially when it comes to car preferences. I would never, ever buy a Volkswagen, because of all the electrical gremlins. I for one would rather have a "slow" car (as the Yaris was referred to by some members in that forum) and have a ton of cash in the bank than have a "fun" car that requires a ton of money to own because it's in the shop all the time. Cars are the worst investments ever, so the less money I have to spend on maintaining one, the better. But I've gotta say, I thought it was really great how how some members in that forum were saying really positive things about the Yaris.

That thread is total bull... So pointless. Haters are going to hate and there always going to be some immature close-minded members on any forum. Hell, I've had 250whp turbo miatas, LS1 Camaros, and now I have a slow ass civic, stock miata, and a yaris. I can honestly tell you all that I have more fun driving the slow cars fast than the fast cars slow. I also think the GTI is a great all around car. I think some folks there just want to compare their cars to slower cars to boost their egos a little bit. Let them be haha

I just want to see their faces when Garm pulls up next to one of them or meets them at the track. Then well see who laughs about our little econobox:thumbup:
