What's your budget?
Do you want a short ram intake or a cold air intake?
Do you want a loud exhaust or a quieter one?
Do you have a preference of what brand you like?

$500, brand doesn't matter so long as it has a decent quality. I guess a short ram cause of water where I live. As far as exhaust goes just not "ricey"

My only exhaust/intake mod so far is the Tanabe Medallion touring exhaust.
It's really nice! It's very quiet and looks pretty OEMish.

I also plan to get an aFe short ram intake, it's got a heat shield so it shouldn't take up as much heat from the engine as normal SRI's, but since I don't have one yet...I can't comment too much on it.
I'd say go look up reviews on all of the exhausts and intakes you're looking at.

I can't say that Micro Image sells anything ricey or anything that's bad quality though, you can ask everyone around there, they have great stuff.
So whatever you pick you'll probably be happy with.

why?

afe intake looks good, i will eventually get it when i have the money, as for exhaust the DC header seems to be loved by everyone that has one. Together those are almost $500.

i haven't seen many opinions on any of the exhausts for some strange reason.

A header will not cause your car to fail smog. Because it's behind the motor, it should pass visual inspection as well.

We have good stock on Injen intakes right now too.

Injen intake are prolly going to give you the best performance gain out of any of the intakes out there. It is hard for us to recommend b/c its based on preference where you want to start. Personally I always follow the natural flow of the engine starting with breathing and ending with the two stages of the exhaust (manifold and exhaust system).

I have the afe intake and DC headers with cust axelback and I love the set up. The sounds is great and the butt dyno shows some gains.
