I finally got my summer tires this weekend: Dunlop Direzza DZ101 205/50R15. BIG difference between the winter tires they replaced (Michelin X-Ice 2, 175/70R14) in terms of grip and cornering, but the extra inch (30mm) of width at the outermost edge has sapped some acceleration. They're also about a half inch smaller in diameter, and there's no clearance or rubbing issues on stock suspension.

They also have a neat feature called "Max Flange Shields" to prevent curb rash. The net effect on stock hubcaps is a flush mounted look:

The diameter is pretty close to stock, and with stock hubcaps, it doesn't seem to need springs to close the fender gap:

I just got the same tires also. Grip is ok, seems to work well in the rain. The sidewall is kind of soft, but it does make them ride smooth and absorb bumps well. They are also pretty quiet. These are the first tires I bought in a while that had a treadwear rating higher than 180 so I'm hoping I can get at least a year out of these. (I wore out my Star Specs in about 5,000 miles or about 6 months worth of driving.) But anyway, these tires were also pretty cheap so they definitely get a thumbs up.

Yeah, after those X-Ice2's, these things are silent by comparison. These are my first set of "ultra performance summer" tires, so I don't have anything to compare them against, aside from the winters and the old Bridgestone Potenza RE92's.

They look nice and I like that curb rash protection feature, pretty nifty.
