205/50 R17X7" ET 42'

Hello,

I decided to use a set of 205/50R17 on my 2007's Yaris with stock suspension. Wheels are 17x7" ET 42'.

My problem is that when I turn at full, the front tire rubs on the inside face at the back.
I am considering spacers to solve the issue, but wonder if 5mm will be enough or if I should go all the way with 10mm.

Any comment/help? Thanks in advance!

OK, I got generic 10mm spacer and tried them on, looks that this will solve the rubbing issue, but now I will have to replace the studs.

Can any one let me know what are the correct studs I need?

You will need 12x1.5 studs, and the ones you cited above are 12x1.5. So yes they should work.

Not sure what type of spacer you have, but if the studs aren't in the spacer itself you will need longer studs.

Spacer I got didn't have the studs on it, they are just something like this

This. Anything over 5mm (7mm at the MOST) you should really look into getting longer studs.

If the Yaris uses the same studs front and rear, then those will work.

Yeah. 10mm on stock studs = 3 exposed stud threads. Not good.

I'm more amazed that a Yaris with 25.1" wheels can even move! My 205/50R15's are slow compared to my skinny winter tires (175/70R14).

I run 16x7, ET42 with 205/50/16's and they rub the plastic fender liners at full lock... a maneuver I've made only a handful of times in the 5 years I've been running this size tyre. Nothing for concern here.

Why not adjust the steering stop to prevent full lock? I know you will increase turning radius but you don' want to get the tight radius anyway since it will cause the tire to rub...

Oh, BTW, I was planning to go 16 X 7, 42ET with 195/50-15...
