What are you trying to do? Did you check the diy section?

Remove the left tail light. No I haven't , trying to remove it but it seems its stuck , by some clips holding it by the bumper or that's what I think - removed the two bolts and the side of the tail light but the bottom of the light won't budge and there's no visible screw!

If it is constructed the same as 2006-2011, then there is a pin which is pressure fitted into the body behind the light. It takes a good hard yank straight back on the light to get it out. If you shine a light into the tail light access area within the hatch, you might be able to see a pin coming through the sheet metal.

Maybe those pics of the 2012 tail light parts you had posted up will help you.

Here is a pic of the gen2 taillight. The pin is circled down in the lower outside corner.

Bummer. All the more reason to get those new tails. If not, a little 2-part epoxy would be strong enough to secure the broken bits together.

And guess what ... There's no bloody fkin serial codes on the tail light . So all this, a waste of time I'll take some pics and post em for every 12er out there

Take a close look at the connector where the wires enter it. There may be some very, very tiny letters/numbers embossed there. I'm looking at a small connector taken from another area of my car, and that is where the part# is.

Uhm, py21w and only the likes of that codes is what I get , I've removed all the light bulbs and everything but no actual 50xxxx-xxx code

Ladbrox

And that is written on every light bulb housing , brake light house , indicator house etc etc

Shame. You should get them and test em out. Then you could be the exclusive owner of these.

And sell to whom if they don't fit ? It's 330 $ a pair

Interesting. PY21W is what that grey piece in my tail light pic is stamped.

Get some pics up so we can see what you are up against.

Well its not like you would have to sell them. You said that the tails would fit but the connector might not so that would mean if the connector does not fit you just have to custom wire it to fit. Doesn't mean you would have to sell it.

The part numbers for the Vitz RS 2012 tails (complete assembly) are:

Right:81550-52841
Left: 81560-52781

Your French made 2012 tail lights (lens and body) are part number:

Right:81551-0D370
Left: 81561-0D370

Unfortunately the EPC doesn't show the connector detail to determine if they are the same.

True I do not have to sell just said so due to the frustration at the time.

Ctsscott we do have the serials on the rear light combination thread I have up.

There was only numbers on the light bulb housings , which would probably be the same as yours. Anyways I'll re take it apart tomorrow and get some clean snaps , did take one for the whole tail , will post it up bit jater but comparing with the serial I posted, it looked like it had only 2 wires.
But quite frankly it'd be stupid to have different connector, but the rs has less cables that I'm sure off, seen my buddy work with the new Audi and the LEDs had less wire.
But we all know the japs like to make things, slightly " smoother" ( irony ).

So in essence I can order them worst case scenario is the re wire

The Audi ha the same connector just less wires!
