This week I finished my latest development on Crashy. She now has a dump bed. Since her plow is electric, rather than hydraulic, I decided to stick with that theme and used a linear actuator rated for 1320 lbs of lift. I used a six terminal snow plow solenoid to allow me to control the lifting and lowering of the bed with a 3 position rocker switch, mounted to the dash, next to the one for the snow plow. I welded a support structure for the linear actuator and a frame to make the bottom of the molded bed stiff enough to be lifted. The bed is from a 15 cubic foot Rubbermaid garden tractor trailer.
My daughters and I gave it a test run today, moving 3 yards of topsoil around the yard. Fortunately, it is never hard to get them to give me a hand with outside projects that involve driving Crashy.
Here's a video of it in action:

If I ever come across a wrecked Yaris, I plan on sending it to you for some modifications. Would be rather fun here on the farm

Makes me want to get rid of my 4x4 ATV!
How about a rail buggy Yaris, now that would be cool!

For those who want to see a bit more of what a Yaris truck looks like, here's a video of my 9 year old cruising around the yard with it:

Has crashy been made into a 4x4 yet? Cuz I'm kinda expecting that. I haven't noticed anything stating its been done.

She's still just FWD. I've plowed 39 inches of snow without an issue with her, so 4WD hasn't been necessary. It would be cool to import the parts from Japan to make her AWD, but that would require a bunch of expensive parts (Tranny with output shaft, drive shaft, rear axle with diff, etc.)

Yea; I remembered reading that it was offered overseas to have an awd model. ... That'd be cool as heck, but I think i'd rather have that on the regular Yaris than Crashy; not to diminish crashy's reckless abandon awesomeness in any way.

What's the story on this Yaris? Was it a totaled in a wreck?

Yes. I bought it wrecked off ebay for $632. I intended to part it out and pull the drive train and electrical systems for my test bench, but realized that I could make it roll, after I got it home, so it has evolved into a snow plow, dump truck, and soon to be 20KW generator Yaris. Here's the thread with the history:
