Well i just ordered a short throw with a 3inch extension a little while ago looking forward to putting it in.

Just installed it, the factory clips that hold the cables to the bracket are a pain to get out, but one I got those out it was easy to install and what a difference it is, it might take me a little while to get used to it.

now what should i get from micro to do to me car.... ? :D

why?

so how does it feel? How much shorter are the throws? Oh, and you should order everything they have. =)

I fully understand the term "notchy" it feels more like it actually follows the pattern displayed on the shift knob. it appears to have taken a great deal of travel distance out of it I would say maybe around 45%. I only drove it up the street and back I'll have to try it out around town more. It is a trany set up so I will have to get an interior short throw, but if the micro image one did that much, an interior one added to it might make it only move half an inch between the forward and aft gear sets. that might be too much movement reduction. wait what was i talking about ....

I would like to but it's a yaris not a 18 wheeler so putting both a supercharger and a turbo would be over kill and probably pull too much boost to handle, both in control and for the engine to handle it.

So you ordered both the ss and the matching bracket that they have?

^ Yes, he ordered the complete kit. The brackets help relieve tension on the cables for a smoother feel. It's more notchy without it.

This kit reduces throw about 30% up and down direction, it doesn't change throw from side to side (which I think is fine like it is).

now for the important part, the stickers. :D they should add some extra hp along with my racing strip. :D

LOL, that is well known. There are dynos to prove it.

If stickers add HP, I think i need to go to the dyno....I might break a record!

If I remember correctly; it's approximately 100hp per sticker, and most everyone feels that two stickers is the optimally efficient allotment.

remember that it is a trany side kit and may take some work to get to. but worth it once it is done.

I wasn't sure about the SSK when I did it, but after a few weeks I got used to the effort and throw distance. I can't imagine going back to stock, and I'd like to get an adjustable one for the cabin side of things.

I believe if you do not have 1/2 inch ratchet you can use a different one with required sockets ))

That's correct, whatever size driver you have should work as long as it's the right sized socket.

the hard part depends on if you get the bracket that Micro image can supply. the horseshoe clips on the OEM bracket are kind of a pain to get out, but once you get those out it only takes some time. if it was not for those clips it would have taken me less than an hour to install include removal of some parts that will be in the way.

Including those bastard clips took you how much?

Thanks

about an hour and a half over all, i spent 45 minutes just trying to get those clip out. they are way easier going back in. if you have a dent puller(slide or slam hammer) that works great if you can get it under the edge and pop it a few times.

Are you not? I'd think you'd easily be able to outrun anything with all those.

Overall install time- 2 hours .. if I have to do it again would probably take me 30 minutes

To remove the horseshow clips just used big flat screwdriver (20 seconds to remove both)

Congrats! And 20 seconds to remove those clips? Lucky! Mine took a bit longer, as they were really stuck on there.

if anyone can see anything wrong with my installation (pic above), pls let me know

Looks good from here... get to go out and drive it yet?

I purchased the 3" extender and it shifted like a mack truck. I added the short throw shifter and it now shifts like it did at the stock height but at a much more comfortable position.

I am thinking seriously about getting the in-cabin one to go along with it.

it is worth the money, hands down.
