Please tell me what you all think I should call it. A wing or a spoiler?
http://www.andysautosport.com/toyota/2007_9999_yaris/exterior/wings/paintable_wings/extreme_dimensions/extr00185350.html
I checked with my old buddies the back hatch op# did not change with the facelift in 2009. So it will fit mine...
Dropped it off at the body shop on 4-20. Hoping it will be ready for a install on 4-25. (Friday, Monday, Tuesday) That should be enough time for them to sand and paint right?

The part your refering to is a wing,(as the desciption states).
Depending how busy the body shop is,they might get this
finished by then.

I cant see good enough in those pics... Air passes over and under a wing, air only passes over a spoiler.
just call it sexy and that is fine. Almost looks like a C-One knockoff, and it is a darn good price too.

Seriously, Extreme Dimensions for $200, unpainted? I can do a lot better guys - we have an account with them.
LOL, no:
Is there a difference between a wing and a spoiler?
No, those are two terms that mean exactly the same thing.

and yes, 3 days should be plenty to prep and shoot it, if it's primed and has no damage.

I've never heard of that. You're saying these wings aren't providing downforce?

Actually, a "wing" usually creates down force either in the front or rear.
A "spoiler" gets its name because it literally spoils the air flow and is usally fitted on the rear to spoil the air flow to reduce any low pressure in the rear thus increasing speed a bit.
A spoiler by definition is not designed to create any down force.
Of course, both are only effective at high speeds.
BTW, the part in question from the OP looks like a spoiler to me.

lol. i'm not just saved.
but i am not allowed to wax it for 90 days.
lol i'm sure, i've just been so dirt poor for so long now that i have money i have a long list of stuff to pay for that is going to be done on my car.
And yea, the paint a good paint shop uses needs to cure for 3 months. That is a good thing.

We see the "spoiler" as a waste of money, particularly on a front-engine car, both in initial cost, and in wasted fuel. We see the "wing" as a large carrying handle, plus the advantages of the "spoiler". Aerodynamics on a vehicle under 50mph is a contradiction in terms IMHO.
I will buy a pair of rocker panel skirts (if Cali will let me), only to cover up the ones bent on frozen snow drifts over the years. That will be as close to an aero kit as I will get...

You can just say that you diss like what I did to my Black yari.

I wasn't targeting you, sir, I am just saying that I do not believe in the Yaris as a high-performance vehicle requiring aerodynamic assistance. Lambo? Sure. Ferrari? Absolutely. I used to laugh at whale-tails on VW Bugs. How silly!
Cleaning up any vehicle to help it's fuel mileage and performance is fine, but said vehicle MUST be capable of benefiting from the additions. I'm sure that if all this stuff made a difference, they would have been included in the design.
Personally, I have found after decades of Playing the Game, that the best performance gain is always weight loss, followed by rolling resistance. I don't mean to spoil your fun, just don't make it out to be more than it is: bling, and of no real value...

Everyone has a great idea of what they will do to a vehicle.
Granted my yaris, on a daily basis will drive me to work, and drop my girls off at the inlaws, run for groceries, and will aloow me freedom and time alone to de stress.
But I have always wanted a "tuner" car (I am now 30). I am learning so much thinking of things and how to do them to my yari. It is just so much fun.
I my own humble opinion any spoiler will finish the look of the car off. I mean in a girls termanoligy. I would never wear flip flops with a nice dress. IT JUST WOULDN'T LOOK RIGHT.
I do go over 50 mph everyday so maybe it in some way will help w/ gas mileage. But that was not the point.
I wanted it to have a more finished look. I believe I acheived it. I do have a list of things I want to to and my tech friends from the dealership I have and do work at are giving me suggestions. But you all can help me find products and tips easier then they can so I real value all of the imput.
I truely appreiciate all ideas, and critisims possible. I am a new peson to this and I am learing so much. No bad vibes here.
