man, it's a bad season for dogs... my friend here got two puppies before christmas, both died now from a nasty virus... and then a week ago his older dog runs out of the house and gets run over by a van... he's OK, but his hind leg is shattered...

sucks... :frown:

I'm sorry to hear that. As Kaotic Lasagna said is, it is always hard to lose a family member.

Sorry to hear about that. We had to put my wives cat down in october of 06. He was almost 18 and she had him since he was a kitten. The only cat i ever liked.

I DREAD the day my dog dies... he's gettin' on up there, and I love him to death. I'll be a wreck when something finally happens to him. Terribly sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry. HUGE animal lover here... rarely meet a pet I don't like. Its always hard to see them go, but look on the bright side... this means you get another decade+ with a new one!

He'd be 9-year-old in March. I'm still a bit in denial that he's really gone. My other dog is 15-year-old. Now she's really sad that her (sort of) adopted son is gone. She didn't eat much in the past 2 days.

I might have felt better if the last time I saw him he wasn't wearing a frown - looked kind of disappointed that I was leaving w/ a suitcase, again. I'm really sad because I didn't get to say a proper goodbye. I wasn't there when he died.

When my grandparents passed away, I was kind of prepared, because they're old & sick. But Leo, he was like my little baby. He never really matured. He acted like a little puppy all the time - always trying to sit on my lap even when he didn't fit anymore. (He's a Labrador Retriever, BTW.)

I miss you so much Leo.

Really sorry to learn about that. I don't keep pets because I know how painful it will be to lose them one day.

Im very sorry to hear that. Just remember the happy memories. Dogs love happy memories and i know they wouldn't want us to be sad about them. They do theirjob to keep us happy. So hang in there bud and whenever the time is right, u will eventually find love in another pet.

Thanks everyone and sorry for the late reply. It was really hard for the first few weeks. I wish I was nicer to him, spent more time w/ him, et cetera... I'm starting to feel better about it now. I'm trying to think that Leo is in a better place now - and that he's not in pain anymore. I wish I'm a religious person; it might have been easier.

Here's a picture of Leo when he was 2-year-old.
