I have a Wink panoramic rear-view mirror that I'd like to install in my 2012 Yaris, but to do so I'll need to remove the factory mirror. I don't see how to do it. There are instructions on this site for how to remove the mirror on older models, but they don't seem to apply to the 2012 mirror. Help, please.

i assume it would be like All other rearview mirrors. it should just slide off and thats it.

just a word of advice, i would really think about it before you install that into your car. i have one in my del sol right now, and i must say i regret putting it on there. yes i know you just uninstall, but they tend to get annoying especially when they never stay in the same position you positioned it in the first place.

whatever it is you do, good luck !

I wish it were that simple, but it doesn't seem to slide off. There must be another way to get it off.

Can you post a pic of the base of the mirror for the 2012? The image in the EPC makes it look about the same as the 06-11, but for some parts they don't update the images.

Thanks, CTScott. I'll try to post a pic - it may take me a day or two.

There's usually a screw/set screw that holds it onto the window mounted bracket.

when i get into my car today, before i go to work, i'll take a quick look at it.

are you just trying to remove the mirror part , or also the part which is attached to the windsheild?

I was able to remove it this morning. The base slides up - I just wasn't using enough pressure. There's a little plastic latch that holds it in place, but if you use enough pressure the latch releases and the base slides off of a metal piece that's glued to the glass. I think that a small screwdriver would release the latch, so that less pressure would be required.

How do you like that Wink mirror? I was considering getting one for my 2012 Yaris...

I installed the Wink mirror (5-panel version) this past weekend. At first I used the visor mounting holes, which were in exactly the right positions. I was pleased with the mirror, but I missed the visors. So I re-mounted the Wink by drilling holes into the metal frame above the windshield, thus allowing me to keep the visors. I absolutely love the Wink mirror. Between it an my side-view mirrors, I no longer have any blind spots. That was one of my main gripes with my 2012 Yaris, and now it's a non-issue.
