Thinking about doing a gauge cluster swap to get a tachometer. Would the dealer be able to tell that my model Yaris did not come with a tach then assume I swapped the gauge cluster and thus end my existing warranty?

Hmm. I would say that because you're using OEM parts, that it shouldn't be a problem. That said, I do not handle Toyota warranty claims, and can't promise anything.

I doubt they'd go that far. Even if they could make that determination, it is not grounds for voiding the entire warranty.

Thanks for info. Hopefully that wouldn't be the case. Definitely thinking about getting one with a tach.

The problem is that your mileage on the replacement one won't match your car's mileage, so the dealer can claim that you are messing with the ODO and therefore not honor your warranty.

If you get one, they take 2 minutes to swap out, so I would keep the original one on hand and swap it back if you are bringing the car in for service. That, or work with your dealer on installing the new one, so they can document the ODO discrepancy.

Good Idea Scott. Did some research on the forums. Will an 2010 cluster sedan fit a hatch fyi? Also, what years are compatible with 2010 clusters. I'm guessing all of them? Thanks.

Hatch and sedan cluster are not interchangeable. As far has model year compatibility, I believe any year will work.

Definitely have to work with dealer to document ODO discrepancy. Swapping in and out won't work as someone will wonder why your mileage never changes.

I crossed this bridge a few years ago and came to the conclusion that the Europe Toyota dealers can get some nice digital clusters. I lost interest in the idea but if you can find a way to get the tach cluster, let us know.

Correct on the lack of interchangeability. As for years, any will work, but you need to match features (i.e. if you have ABS, then you need an ABS equipped cluster, if you 2010 has traction control, then you are limited to 2010 and 2011 clusters).

If you have the dealer installs parts it WILL NOT void the warranty.

If I put anything on my car, with it being less then 1 year and just at 10k miles. I will need to have the dealer pretty much do everything. That's why for my spoiler I went back.

Thanks for info. How do I find out if my Yari has traction control? If I don't match up features will they not work? Or I just wont get error messages

Actually, all 2010's had it. If you use a cluster that from an older car without it, you will just lose the indicators for it.
