If you pull those liners completely your engine is going to take a thrashing from all the dirt/water that is goin to get pulled up into the bay while you drive...I put my fenders back in because of that. It made it impossible to keep the engine clean.

If you never pop your hood it won't matter so much.

I just left mine in, as mazilla said - all of the road grime/grit (and salt here in Ohio) goes right to your engine with them out.

I rolled my fenders. And cut the top out of my liners. Yes, rocks get shot up where the hood hinges are, thats the most I have seen. I would take an air blower every other weekend and blow most of it out.

Mine used to rub, I just let it rub for a bit to get an idea of where it rubs, then I cut out the areas. Really reduced the rubbing.

I have the Tein S.Tech's. So on the sedan, they lower it 2-2.1" all around. I did, however, install spring coil spacers in the rear, so it's ~.2" higher.

my coilover/wheel setup tore gashes in my liners.... left them in... figured it was the car trying to improvise... another thing... my wheels broke all the fender clips/fasteners... oh well... not needed. ;)

im on tein s tech springs and wen i had my winter tires on they pretty much chewed up my fender liners so as of right now i think theres only a couple fasteners holding them in

if you are only lowering 1.4 you shouldn't have much problem unless you aftermarket rims and tires are a good bit larger in total diameter than the factory set up. I'm lowered 1.8 but I am using factory size tires and do not have any rubbing issues unless I have a friend weighing me down in the back seat. there should be a thread here some where that list the total diameters of some of the common size aftermarket tires and it tells you how much over factory specs they are.
