Hey guys.
I was going through my manual and found this Luggage Storage box pg 167 of the 2007 Yaris Sedan Owners Manual. There's a diagram showing hidden compartment, but when I went to look, it was just metal floor. Is this a misprint or what?
Thanks!

The manual for my Australian '07 sedan does not mention anything about luggage storage on page 167 but on page 117 it shows two luggage storage boxes which are under the boot (trunk - I believe you Americans call it) floor - one on each side. These are very small and accessed by lifting up a cover under the boot carpet.

Thanks for the reply. It seems that the US version doesn't have it. If anyone else can confirm that would be great. Just curious :)
The Australians get a ton more storage spaces than we do. even in the 2007 they had these cool under seat trays we did not get.

Our cars also all seem to have keyless locking which I see you don't all have. You guys are all welcome to come over here - only problem is our steering wheel is on a different side. Also our cars don't have a hood and a trunk but a bonnet and a boot!
Regards to all from Aus

Today I went through my whole owners manual and can not find any reference to any storage box other than what I have already mentioned i.e. in the boot/trunk. Your American manual is a different manual to the Australian one. I had my car for about three years until I discovered a small storage box on the right of my steering wheel, probably to the left of yours, with a pop out cover. I had inherited my '07 Yaris when it was about 14 months old, when my dear Dad died. In this storage compartment was a badge from his local bowls club and other artifacts that I was not aware that I had.

The U.K. manual for the Mk 2 Yaris (hatchback) shows storage compartments under the boot floor. My 2010 Yaris (French built) did not have them. Neither did it have the facility to raise/lower the floor to two different heights, if required, which was also shown in the handbook.
However, it did state these "extras" were dependent on specific country specification and no doubt whether the "bean counters" were involved to some degree!

My 07 hb is a diesel so it's a french one and i can lift the floor of the trunk and have a box at the left and the right and a small carpet-like thing that covers the spare tire.

Why?
I don't feel bad, my friend. I love my Yaris and every time I drive it I think of my Dad. It is not a car I may have bought myself, but now I have one, I am smitten by the Yaris bug and will always have a Yaris in my fleet. I hope my Dad's Yaris lasts for many a long year yet.
