Re-Circulate Knob Not Working

Hello All- I did some searching and could not find anything. My girlfriend has a 2009 Toyota Yaris that is just out of warranty, go figure... Anyways, this past weekend we turned the A/C on and switch the recirculate knob to not pull air in from the outside. When we did that, the knob went loose as in it doesn't do anything anymore. She called the dealership and they will not even look at it without charging 115 bucks. I told her I would look at it myself. Anyways, I was wondering where I should start looking? Right behing the knobs? Or take the glove box out and start looking around there? Let me know! Any help on this is greatly appreciated!

Know of anywhere that has a service manual for this? I like to look at how to take it out before I just go and start ripping things apart.

The cable most likely popped off the back of the knob. Basically, you pull the two vertical trim pieces off using your fingers and then pull the AC control panel straight back to get at the cable.
