HI,
I have been tracking down a rattle (still) and thought I had it figured out...wrong. Anyway...when I pulled down the back of the headliner in my hatchback I could just barely see and touch, just a few inches in from the edge and above the headliner...a piece of hard foam type material that is on both sides..one left and one right. The one on the right was loose and I thought this was rattlng and causing my noise. I pulled it out (tight fit) and went for a test ride...still have the rattle.
My question is this..Is the foam type material there just to give the healliner some support from being crushed or maybe as a sound damper? Either way, I would like to glue it back in place but really do not want to remove the entire headliner to do this. anybody dealt with this before? Did you just leave it out or have some tricky way of re installing it?
Thanks, T
