Looks great! I've been reading up on Plasti Dip for the last couple days. I've been thinking about doing something similar to you. Does the Plasti Dip smell as it drys or after? Where did you buy q? I looked today at Home Depot, they only stocked the black and were sold out of that.

It smells only as it dries....and I bought it from
Dipyourcar on internet....from Canada it is 15$ /can plus 32$ flat rate shipping but for USA it is 7$/can i think :O jump on it!!

looks great.

Plastidip smells horrifically bad as it dries, which takes at least 4 hours, and still smells for a day or so afterwards as well. Then it does not smell at all.

You are right hehe!!! Takes only a couple of minute to rough dry...for other coat...and about 4 hours like WHY? told to dry completely!

But yes it smelt for 1-2 days in the garage haha

On your cowl piece, is that a flat or gloss black? If it's flat do you plan to gloss or just leave it? Do you have any pieces that you glossed black? Said I liked, now I'm interested. Thanks.

They only have mat color...and you can add the glossifier or mettalizer...which is not available to canada for now

So it is all mat black...it is not THAT mat....

Thanks. Yea I went to the site and found what you are talking about. Your stuff is looking sharp. By the way, did you happen to get the wash thingy they sell or what are you using that doesn't leave lint or scratches?

If you were to plasitdip the entire dash, do you think it would be similar to a softer feeling material instead of the hard plastic feel already there?

Talked with a guy at the local gun show yesterday, he does immersion or water transfer printing and thought I might get some of Sprocket's bits done up in this pattern...

Sort of feels like rubber. It technically is rubber, obviously, but it doesn't have the bounce associated with rubber because the coating is quite thin.

yours_falsely
06-04-2012, 04:39 PM
A harder type of rubber like tire rubber or something softer? I'm wondering if you were to spray it on thick enough would it make it more 'soft touch'.

packetrace
06-04-2012, 06:44 PM
I sprayed 4-5 coat and its a lot softer then tire rubber ahah
