Calaveras nights are back after a long MiA!

This thread will be for posting dates and time when each Calaveras Meet and Run will take place.

We have a lot of more people now in the club, and few of them have had a taste of what Calaveras Nights is all about at the Saratoga Meet...this is a bit more fun :wink:

I will edit this post with more information on location of meet up and course run.

Speaking of this meet...who's leading? I need a leader that can hold themselves on the road AND flick high beam and low beams frequently to tell oncoming cars from a far/blind distant that there are cars coming on the narrow roads..

Ooohhhh... Is this going from Calaveras to Felter then down to Sierra or is it all Calaveras up to 680? Both are really fun. Could we do Mt Hamilton next?

When we set that meet/drive, could you please lead everyone, since you will be the most familiar one with that road :wink:

We've had 2 cars in the past run Calaveras on stock tires (Eagle LS) and they tore it up haha.

You will enjoy the road. I think it goes down to Sierra but 680 is really close to it and other freeways.

The others will be there first, I will show up late.

lol. Yeah, Mt Hamilton is awesome, especially getting up to Lick Observatory, nice view from up there. And if you're really feeling like a drive, we could continue all the way out to Livermore (66.9mi).

For Friday night, it's a quick drive from Calaveras to Felter and on to Sierra (12.3mi)... or we could take a left and continue on Calaveras which would take us up to 680 and Calaveras in Fremont (16.7mi). Or go up Sierra and then make a right on Calaveras from Felter to 680 (24.1mi).

The only bad thing is that it's a 1 lane road (on Calaveras) and there's no cell reception when you get close to the reservoir.

It should be fun either way. 4 more days!!! :thumbup:

The idea of no cell reception sounded bad the first time Alex (Prius owner) led us to this road, but after the run all the worries were washed away in my head.

The 1 lane road near the top gets a little bit intense because you have to be really attentive on the driving, but fun nonetheless. Whoever is leading, please flick your high beams AND low beams frequently to let oncoming cars know.

It was a good meet, seeing some people we haven't seen in a long time!
A few pictures were taken before i arrived, so ezhacker1 will post them up and the video footage from Advocate's car.

Overall, great teamwork from everyone and good food frmo jrjrdihn at 2am :biggrin:
