Installing the Fog Light kit from MicroImage.
Hey everyone, I need your advice on where you installed your fog light switch.
It does appear that there is a couple of ''blank'' switch locations down under the e-brake console area. I was also looking at the area near the electric mirror switch under the driver side cup holder.
If you might have any pics of you installation of the fog light switch, can you please share them.
I'm very hesitant about cutting, just want to make sure. :iono:

I used a lighted round rocker switch and mounted it next to the mirror controls. To me it made more sense to have it on the dash than on the console.

Just make sure that if you go for an illuminated switch that you purchase one with the lighting and switching separate (typically with 4 terminals - 2 for switching, 2 for lighting). The nice thing about wiring it there is that you are right next to the steering column and also the illumination wiring can be done to the dimmer rheostat wiring.

That was my primary choice. You're right, it makes more sense.
However, the switch that was provided in the kit is rectangular in shape.
I'm hoping that Garm or Jeff @ MicroImage might chime in on this.
I actually like the round switch you have better than rectangular one.
Where did you get the round switch?????

From helping quite a few people out with fog light installs, I can tell you that most mount the included switch in place of one of the knock-outs in the console (which does require opening up the hole a tad).

I bought the switch I used from Digikey:

It's actually pretty hard to find an illuminated switch where the switch and light are completely separated.
