I'm looking at a 2012 Yaris L 5-sp manual (3 door) as an "upgrade" for my 2007 Corolla. What are the best options for installing cruise? I don't want to overspend, but I also want it done correctly. Thanks in advance.

There are threads on installing cruise control. Just a warning before you get burned by the search police lol. http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37205&highlight=cruise+control

I haven't put together the DIY yet for 2012, but it's almost identical to doing so on 2009 to 2011 Yaris, with the exception of a different retaining mechanism for the airbag. I sell the parts necessary for the install for a fraction of the dealer cost.

For a 2012 Automatic all that is required is the Cruise control stalk with wiring harness and mounting screws, which I sell for $40 shipped to the US or Canada.

For a 2012 Manual the Cruise Control Clutch Switch is a also required, which I sell for $15 shipped.

This thread has the 2006-2011 DIY, which gives a pretty good idea of the scope of the work:
