Aftermarket Sway Bars?

I have a 2008 Yaris Sedan and i was wondering what the best performance sway bar for the rear is. i want it to be as stiff as possible. don't really care if it's adjustable or not.

the whiteline one (also at microimageonline.com) is pretty nice too. I actually have that one on my car. it has adjustments but I just put it at the stiffest setting to begin with. it has 2 holes for soft and stiff.

in case you have stock dampers - installing stiffer shock absorbers is a ten times better investment than just adding a sway bar

Shocks and struts without springs isn't going to improve handling that much, especially body roll.

Sway bar is a huge improvement on the Yaris in turns. Either of the ones posted above are very good choices.

I did the sway bar and the springs (I went with H+R) and there was a huge difference. now it is stiffer and body roll is way down. The total cost was around $500 (after the alignment and all)

I have tokicos in the rear and the diffirence is HUGE.. (still waiting for my spring compressors to install the front ones).. installation of the sway bar only could not even compare.. i still have some bodyroll but the car feels completely different ..even my wife noticed the difference (that being said she has not noticed the exhaust so far). Based what I am hearing from people - intstallation of springs only is kinda half measure - more for looks, replacing just the shocks has a much stronger effect overall (you do not replace springs each time you adjust your coilovers' "stiffness" setting, right?).

First installed the sway bar.. its presence is noticeable but is basically nothing compared to just adding two decent shocks in the rear (in my experience)..

There are lots of opinions here on most sway bars that are presently on the marker. My concern is that most people (including myself) expect some sort of miracle installing one.. the truth is- there is no miracle just minor improvement.. you really need to have couple stiffer shocks in the rear

On stock springs/shocks/struts, my first impression of the rear sway (TRD 19mm) was that the car felt 'heavier'. Heavier meaning that it felt more firmly planted to the road with less tendency to float. This was way back in 2008 before the forum could plant a lot of preconceived notions of what I should be experiencing.

I installed the TRD sway bar on my '08 sedan prior to any other suspension bits. It made a huge difference in highway stability and also greatly reduced body roll and understeer through corners while leaving OEM ride quality.
A month or so later I added the rest of the TRD suspension components which took the ride quality from OEM comfy to super-sporty.
Most my age are looking for a Cadillac ride. I still prefer to have the fillings shaken loose from my teeth. The price I pay for road-race type handling on frost heaved Canadian roads. :thumbup:

The Whiteline bar is the most popular, probably because everyone knows the companies name, but the forum goers here love the Ultra Racing one. I am pretty sure it was noted a while ago you could actually run both at the same time if you really wanted to.

They are both good, and do the job. Plus they aren't really that expensive compared to shocks and springs, and they don't give a bone jarring ride like shocks and springs do.

I'm don't really care about the ride being bone jarring, i would rather it perform well. comfort is not all that important though i would like to find some nice adjustable shocks, maybe something like the QA1's that you can adjust the firmness with just the turn of a knob.

Adjustable shocks and struts would either be the Tokico Reds:

or shocks/struts that come with several of the coilover kits, like Megan, Cusco, KW, Silk Road, Ohlins, etc.
(Tanabe and Tein Street Basis coilovers do not have adjustable damping)
