I changed my Dad's '10 Corolla cabin filter recently and decided to do mine as well, on my '10 Yaris Sedan. When I removed the cover, it was empty! Has anyone else heard of this happening? I struggled a bit to get the filter to fit, but was able to end up securely closing the cover panel. My Yaris is a base model, maybe that's why I had no filter, because a base is just bare bones?

I bought my 2010 sedan loaded (with more stuff than I wanted or needed) and it didn't have a cabin filter.
I'm pretty sure they all ship without one.

From what I got from researching, the cabin filter was an option. However, you can buy the filter from Amazon. It should be the same size as you dad's corolla filter.

My 2007 sedan. Had no cabin filter in it.
Like most here. I installed one.

My 2010 Yaris LB didn't come with a cabin air filter either. I don't think any of the new Yaris's come with a cabin air filter. It should though!!!

You mean the slot where the filter is suppose to be? Remove the glove box and you will see where its suppose to go..

almost no Yaris had them from factory. The diy ones are easy and dirt cheap.

Exactly how would I get to the place where the filter can be installed?

I thought there was a TSB issue where improper venting would allow condensation to build up in the filter, causing a mold/mildew issue, leading Toyota to discontinue them at the factory. Not sure of the source on that one, but I thought I read it here somewhere...

No.... the filter was not the caues of the problem. Toyota dose not inclued them in the Yaris purely to save money.
