For 100$ .. you get what you pay for. I'm sure your stock one costs more than that .. and probably isn't as bad as you think. Surely it will cost you more than 100$ to fix your problem.
I have a stock cd / mp3 player (6 disc unit) and it sounds pretty good.

You get what you pay for my dude.. Just know the radio wont have a lot of functions and/or audio adjustments.. Plus, the fact you get 2 pair of speakers for under 100 bucks.. I just dont know how much of an approvement over stock thats really going to be..
You are better off saving up for a decent deck.. Then when you have the money, replacing the speakers.. Then adding additional amplifiers and a sub if thats a route you wanna take..
To give you a ball park, I think my head unit was 200(pioneer deh-p6300bt i think), 250 for all 4 interior speakers (infinity reference) 150 for sub and box (12" kicker cvr).. and probably 300 for amps.. and I nowhere near spent top dollar on my audio system.. probably somewhere in the middle.. But im happy with it..
So like i said, you get what you pay for and it all depends on your taste..

David, where in Massachusetts are you? Boston?
D.
lol, i can see where that is going.
But I would be shocked if the stock system cost $100. The speakers are literally paper.
Go for it. It is made by Pioneer, so it has to be decent, even if it is decade old technology.

Thanks for the responses guys, i was assuming i'd get wat i'd paid for. i may just get it and see wat happens, worst case scenario it sucks and im out $100. but i doubt that would happen.
@derrick, yes i live in boston, in dorchester to be more specific.

If the stock unit works correctly you could look at a bit ten processor. That'll bring some
Good adjustability all around.

Just depends on how good your ears are trained and type of music/quality of your music to be honest. Lots of people would say their 100 complete system is 10x better than stock but then there are people who say it is = to stock. Do you normally listen to music on great speakers at home or just a couple hundred buck system? Oh and just get fronts unless you have family/tour friends around all the time. You don't knowtice backs much and double the price in fronts will have a much bigger impact.

I think the deck in that package deal only has 1 preout.
If you ever want to add amps to you system it's going to be more work.
Depends on what type of sound you're looking for.
If you really look at the numbers you're factory deck puts out about 10 watts RMS. The new deck puts out 20 watts RMS. Even then its safe to say about 15 watts RMS before it distorts.
So at 5 watts gain per speaker @ 100 bucks. I think its a bad investment.

Yupp .. mine is a 6 disc double din unit. It works just fine .. considering that really I don't want an aftermarket unit in my car.
I used to have a pretty good custom stereo system in my Honda Accord .. and all that it got me was headaches. I had my car broken into and my subs stolen. So .. really was it worth it. As a result .. I just like the stock unit I have now.
Aftermarket stereo .. Good sound = yes, lots of grief = yes, worth it = no.

well their are $1 pieces of paper and their are $100 pieces of paper. The yaris speakers seem to be the $1 variety. Yours probably cost much more than the $100.
But so far I have just spent $400 on a h/u. Well I did in 2006 when I bought the car, and the quality is acceptable to me. Not exactly great, but I haven't had the cash to make it great, and I am not sure I would want to spend the money and the time to have a top tier system.

It will be better than stock. More power = better sound. Even from a cheap package like this you can expect good sound over stock with Pioneer. You just wont have many great features that more expensive sets give you.
