Consumer Reports said the Smart Fortwo was one of the worst cars they had ever tested.

I don't understand why someone would pay $15,000 for one (I read that was going to be the price for the US) when you could get a Yaris for less. Heh

you gotta admit, it's pretty freakin awesome...

But, the problem with such a powerful, short wheelbase car, as you can see, is that it spins out very easily :tongue:

First: Consumer Reports knows jack about cars. And I believe that review was for the last gen model, not the 451.

Second: Because for that $15k, you get a fully loaded vehicle, comfortably over 40mpg city/hwy average, paddle shifters and automatic tranny, and, oh yeah, a convertible. Find me another car with those options that can touch that price.

You won't be winning any races, and you won't be luggin' around the kitchen sink, but comfy you will be. :thumbsup: Sounds like a steal to me.

Ditto. I'm waiting for it to come out in '08 so I can take a test drive. If I like it half as much as I think I will, I'm in for sure.

Unless, of course, Toyota does indeed bring over a redesigned Aygo, which rumor has it will be targeting the smart specifically. If it looks as cool as the initial sketches, it does arrive in '08, and Toyota can convince me it's as sturdy as the smart (which is a brick), then I may have to reconsider. The new Aygo will have to be crazy cheap, since the Yaris is already so low.

I think 2008 Toyota Aygo is somehow l0ook like Yaris Hatchback. A little different design from the back.

I'd rather see the Auris myself. :drool:
