Car & Driver Magazine test has a Toyota finishing behind a Kia?
C&D listed the Yaris highs as: Velvety ride, fun shifter, agile around town abd best observed fuel economy.

Personally I'd still take the Yaris as my #1 pick. Best value overall for me considering price, mpg and Toyota reliability.

Hmmmm..... Who cares what car and driver think. Being paid by Kia to print statements like this is stupid. best price? I have no idea where they got $13,905 for the base price. The base price is $13,325.

Yaris:
near 50/50 weight balance
lighest out of the 7

Not sure on the gas milage though

i've noticed...
all these reviews looking down at yaris only reviewed the sedan version...
(this one... edmunds... and msn...etc)

also, some of these cars in this review are just in different class...
come on... comparing 1.8 L or even 2.0 L with 1.5 L...???
just because they try to sell 1.8 L or 2.0 L cheap doesn't means they are comparable...

agree. you have to admit to make it 'fair', you gotta compare apple with apple, so 1.8L and 2.0L should be outta picture -- Versa, Calibrer..etc (80% garbage report). But to see Fit has 9/10 for both interior and exterior styling while Yaris getting 7/10? are they forking nuts? (Pure garbage report). Have you seen the Fits on the street? I have seen one parked beside me in a chinese plaza. It makes my friend's 95 rusted sunfire looks hot. come on, man.

  Honestly, I stopped reading car and driver magazine a long time ago because of some of its whacked out writers.. I mean if they made legitimate points then it would be fair, but sometimes they are just off the deep end

Frankly, I don't listen to anything the US car press says.

i had a fit behind me today, (note: it was BEHIND me) so i saw the front of it, which is probably the better looking part of the car, but then the guy turned and all i could see was a mini-minivan
