I did a transmission fluid change in May, everything is good. But I heard some poeple say I need to change twice or even the third time to get rid of all the old oil. Is this necessary? If so, how long should i wait between each change?
Thanks

If you just dropped the pan and drain it from there you only got 2 0r 3 quarts of the ~8 that are in there.
You could do that a dozen times and not get it all.
Some shops have the setup to get it all and it involves hooking up to the transmission lines that run to the radiator (or something) This pumps the new stuff in while pumping the old stuff out and is about the only way to "change' the oil in it.
Which isnt necessary unless you drive under really adverse conditions.
Im not sure it is even then.

There's an old post up of CT Scott's that says 3 quarts will do the job for a drain and fill.
