I can do oil change/ fliter etc.
Guyz,u have info on wheel bearings, brake pad replacements, transmission and brake oil change plus the cv axle and joints.
Anyone attempted these?
Yes, I've done them all.
No, they are not something you should do at home, except brake pads. By the way, rotors must always be changed with pads; I've seen rotors shatter like glass ornaments because the owner thought he could save money by doing just a pad slap.
Rear wheel bearings are detatchable hub assemblies that require a slide hammer to pull out. Front wheel bearings are press-in only, unless you buy a complete steering knuckle with bearing and hub already pressed in ($600+).
CV axle boots are not worth your time. Take it to a professional. Complete axles are doable if you have the 30 mm 12-point impact socket and impact wrench. You'll also need to detach the outer tie rod from the knuckle. You will lose transmission fluid in the process.
Gearboxes are drain & fill. Automatic transmission uses lifetime filter.
