No reason to remove the tint... It holds the pieces together as you smash the glass. Time for poly side and rear windows.

@ Jason, I definitely want to try that -- at least the rear quarters, that looks like a fun weekend project.

You can get a lot of weight out of the doors.

This one is a bit more mild.

Thanks! today more progress. Fitted a Sparco bucket seat to my old brackets -- bye bye Bride. (and thanks Jason for the hookup on the seat)

Wow, this thing holds me like my mommy's womb. mmmmm.......

Passenger seat is out -- no more ridealongs.

next is driver door panel, then the carpeting.

Nice.

OK, I will start the final weight guessing. 2050lbs (no driver) with a 1/4 tank of fuel, in race trim.

Jason: NICE trim job on them doors, especially the white one!

Garm: without that second seat, how can I help you shave two seconds???

@ Jason I am amazed at your car's weight WITH a full cage. That's going to add in about 50 back on mine?

@ Jesus -- I'll bring this instead, it's lighter than you.

^ They are on the floor, in a large chaotic pile. Everything that's coming out will be for sale at some point, but not until I fully process that I just completely ruined a perfectliy good car, on purpose.

Depending on if you go full SCCA spec, with dual door bars, dash bar and feet going to the firewall, it should be 50-75lbs.

The biggest difference between your car and ours at that point would be the extra weight of the turbo.

It's interesting to see how the sheet metal profiles introduce stiffness into the body.

Do you know yet when and where your next race will be?

Not sure. Now that I have working headlights again, I can go to Adams in Riverside. Probably next Tuesday, and possibly Buttonwillow this weekend.

i don't know how it happens, but anytime you touch that car, it gets sexier.

if you end up removing your splash guards, please let me know, i ripped off mine around the driver tire and the crappy plastic skid plate. I would be happy to pick them off you for some very light-weight payment. ;)
