$60? I'll have to pay to ship to KY, as well as pay to install (I'm a ditzhead girl). If too low, no pun intended, let me know how low you'll go! Thanks.

The install is not that hard you would probably surprise yourself with how capable you probably are.

If you pm me a price we can work something out.

I am always surprised when I am capable of inflating my own tires without blowing them up in my own fact (I cannot do it myself; trust me on this)...

PM'd you; sorry for the breach of etiquette! And thanks.

What would typical shop labor time be to get oem off and these babies on, 2 hrs?

I had a shop in O.C do it for 100$ installed took him 1 hour i was very happy and low to the ground... So 200 dollars isint bad for a droped yaris whats the rate on the springs again 1.5 bump for a good deal

^^Cool.
Will 205/40/17 slicks be rubbing fender liner after the drop?

This is a pretty aggressive drop. My fronts were really low. I am running the stock 15s with 60 profile tires and I almost never rubbed. 17s may be different.

The spring rate is progressive.

Shop time should be about 2-3 hours for all four. Around 100-300 depending where you go, shop around.

"Almost" never rubbed on 15s?
Ehh..Im lookin at some scraping symphony on 17s I gather. Bummer.
Stupid question here: What is the difference with coilovers and just lowering springs? I dont get it. You can make height adjustments with coilovers on the fly per say?

1.5
08-02-2012, 12:13 PM
Yes. Springs replace the coil portion of your suspension without touching dampers. You have four springs and four dampers. The springs only will come with a predetermined drop and spring rate that cannot be adjusted.

Coilovers are fully adjustable race suspension. You will receive 4 dampers and 4 springs. In the rears the springs sit on a perch connected to your control arm while the dampers are an A style strut that sits seperately. The struts allow you to adjust spring preload and dampening (soft---> hard). The springs will then have an adjustable locking collar system allowing you to adjust ride height.

In the front your spings will sit around your dampers in a mcpherson style strut. This will attach to your hub and you chassis and will allow you to adjust spring preload or ride height by moving the three locking collars and you can adjust dampening as well. All seperate from each other.

The 17s might be fine. I mean almost like hitting a bump and having the front completely lift off the ground and come back down and then yes my tires did get pushed into my fender lining. I think that was the only time I rubbed. Freaking train tracks.

I think it is also worthy of note that most coilover setups run around $1k. you pay for adjustability.

08-02-2012, 12:59 PM
Yes coilovers are much more expensive than springs alone. Also you can go wayyyy lower, forgot about that lol

ChitownY@Ris
08-02-2012, 01:53 PM
Wow. Yea smh..roads here in chi are porbably as nice as Baghdads..and I have to drive over train tracks like 5 times a day. I enjoy going dam near airborne over them like General Lee, and not hearing the slightest scrape.
Ive seen lowered Si's come to a dead stop over the same tracks, I'll nearly rear end them and have to whip around.
So that sucks..cuz I really like the lowered look. So I guess I gotta pay to play with the coilovers, if I want to stay rolling on 17s or 18s :(

08-02-2012, 02:27 PM
Coilovers are going to give you the option of how low or high and then you can adjust them to be stiff enough that you wont get that much suspension travel.

Is it possible to lower JUST the back? At least on mine (stock model), the back seems to ride much higher than the front; can actually see the springs underneath from behind. So fugly! But apparently have to remove struts in front (?) to install, which will make having springs installed quite expensive -- around $300. Can I lower back-end only???

1.5
08-02-2012, 02:49 PM
You can by installing springs in the rear only, but any springs you install are going to drop the rear to.below the front which is going to look more "fugly" IMO

I assume these are gonna go lower than the TRDs that are already on my car. I ask because the Mini 17s that I have make the car sit about half to three quarters an inch higher than on the stock pizza cutters.

I'm debating if I want to come down there and pick these up and then sell the TRDs. The problem is that I wouldn't be able to go down there until next weekend.

You are correct. On my sedan it sat really low until I gutted the rear. Then that back sat higher.

You mean like sunday 8/19? That weekend is our Orlando meet it's a little closer to you and we could all chill. Ill let you know If I still have them going into the weekend.

Oh nice. Hell, that'd be cool just to chill and stuff even if you don't have them.

Who all will be there? Anyone else from Georgia? XD, sorry...you can just PM me the details so we don't screw up your sale thread.

USPS Priority for 20 pounds is $32 to Canada. Labeled as a "gift", described as a "steel springs", and no invoice included should result in zero or very low duties/fees.

Just saying
