I just picked up my Yaris 08 yaris a month back and finally getting around to tackling a few things:

The dealer sold me the car with just 2 plain keys - Not knowing if the car had keyless entry (vehicle does have power windows/door locks.)

I called the dealership, gave them my vin to see if it did - they replied with a yes.

The key and programing it would cost out to be 400 bucks! I can install a new alarm for that price and have plenty left over pizza!

Another option was to get these keys, which I found on Ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-TOYOTA-REMOTE-HEAD-KEY-KEYLESS-ENTRY-FOB-UNCUT-/120721106318?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AToyota%7CModel%3AYaris&hash=item1c1b89e58e&vxp=mtr#ht_3045wt_1399

And program it myself.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

If you want to be 100% sure that it has keyless entry, before purchasing the key, you can pop the C Pillar cover at the bottom, by the wheel well, and look for the keyless entry receiver (which is a little box about 3" x 3" x 1").

The procedure for making the system learn a new remote is on here.
