Has any one tired a Sandisk Sansa with the audio inputs on their Yaris? I like the expandable memory feature of this device and wonder if this MP3 player will perform properly with the Yaris' player inputs?

I have a Sansa that now just gets used when I mow the lawn (it got demoted to that duty a couple years ago when I got my first iphone). I have used it in the Yaris with the stock 2nd gen head unit and the 1/8" AUX jack and it worked fine. I haven't tried it with a USB input head unit though.

I would be more than willing to bet it won't do audio over USB. The 3.5mm-3.5mm Aux in will work perfectly for you though.

On a JVC head unit, I 'can' play my SanDisk Sansa through USB.
However,
- it take forever for the device to be read, and begin playback
- Sansa controls are disabled
- HU can only skip forward/backward through songs
- songs will only play in alphabetical order by title
I stick with the 3.5mm aux cable which operates flawlessly.

Yes, the 3.5mm jack works - BUT - it will work much better with a headphone amplifier/line booster in between the MP3 player and the jack. I always found the volume of MP3 players via the 3.5 jack wasn't sufficient. I don't use it anymore because I replaced my radio with a 7" tablet, but I used one of these (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_30358_Boostaroo-T613-BNC.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=productads&gclid=CPC93_yAi7ICFelaMgodqUUAzg) to boost the signal.

Not exactly on topic, but I have a 4gb memory stick in my stock headunit, each time the car is turned off, it starts from the first folder after listening through. It's like it has no memory like every other car.
Is there something wrong, a size limit or this is normal?

^ normal, based on my experience with a memory stick.

Not only does my 2012 remember which song it was playing, it remember where in the song it was. I can turn off the car while in USB mode and it starts right back up where it left off. I have a tiny 32GB HP drive on the end of a shielded USB extension cable, so HDSC is not an issue. I just wish the car had a multiple folder wide shuffle...
